3 Ways to Tap Into the Matrix of All Possibility

The Matrix of all Possibility

“My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.”
Nikola Tesla

I came across the above quote on my Facebook feed this morning. It was a well-timed synchronicity as it’s a concept I’ve been mulling over the past few days.

My ruminating was about music and the impact it has on our lives. Many musicians claim that they literally pluck songs out of the ether. I know this to be true as my husband is a musician and some of his greatest songs — he told me — were ‘given’ to him by, what Gregg Braden referred to as, the Divine Matrix (in his book of the same title).

The Cosmic Menu

Ideas, music, inventions, art — all these things have been known to come to creatives whilst meditating, dreaming or daydreaming. 3 really important ways of tapping into this field of potentiality is to:

  1. Meditate — surrender all thinking and let your mind take a break. See what comes up in the space between your thoughts (hint: that’s where the magic lies!).
  2. Daydream — children do it all the time and they have some pretty inventive ideas (and the most fun too)! Get into the habit of letting yourself daydream every day. Let your mind wander and see what emerges.
  3. Dream Journaling — try to make a habit of writing down your nightly sojourns in the outer realms — there could be a treasure trove of insights in there for you if you train yourself to remember your dreams. You can even declare/ask that you want to have direction/inspiration in your dreams before you turn in for the night.

Tapping into the ‘matrix’ in this way also begs the question: Is anything ever original? Yes and no.

If everything is in the ‘ether’ already (or the Mind of God or whatever other phrase rocks your boat) then nothing is original but what is original is you and your take on it.

You’re a ‘one of a kind’ — as unique as your fingerprints. So when the ‘quantum muse in the sky’ selects you to manifest a creative package, you will channel the information through your unique experiences/soul/spirit and give the world a truly unoriginal original 🙂

Of course, there are many musicians (or people who call themselves such) who channel nothing of the sort. This goes for any genre really — there are a few artistic duds coming directly from the ego and being controlled by the head not the heart.

“Music isn’t something to think about, at least initially. Eventually it’s got to cover the spectrum, but especially with rock ‘n’ roll, first it has to touch you somewhere else. It could be the groin; it could be the heart; it could be the guts; it could be the toes. It’ll get to the brain eventually. The last thing I’m thinking about is the brain. You do enough thinking about everything else.”Keith Richards in an interview about songwriting

Be the Inspiration You Seek (Odyssey Mag – Issue 4 – Out Now!)

There are simple yet effective habits that free-thinking, progressive people adopt to raise their vibration and stay in a place of joy, creativity, serenity and love. If you’re feeling lost or disconnected from your life purpose, passion and spirit, then Cherie Roe Dirksen may have some helpful tips to keep you pointed in the right direction as well as being an inspiration to others:

The Many Distractions of Modern Day Life

Many of us mere mortals find it difficult to keep our motivation in a constant, healthy flow — sometimes our muse takes a vacation to Ibiza and leaves us holding the fort back home without ink in our wells or paint in our palettes (or Chardonnay in our fridges).

It also doesn’t help when life throws constant distractions our way — the good, the bad and the downright despicable.

We tend to fall into the trap of circumnavigating what’s really important in lieu of catching that new mini series that everyone’s been talking about — and being sucked in for a season or six — or endlessly perusing sites and social media in an attempt to get nowhere in a slow and time-consuming manner.

Time is precious, use it shrewdly.

What does it take to be inspired?

If you feel like you’ve lost the plot and your inspiration levels have ground down to zero then there is a solar powered light at the end of your tunnel. There is great wisdom to be gleaned in the enlightened words of Lao Tzu who penned:

In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don’t try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present.

Let’s take a look at the ways you can bring this concept into your life. You too can stay grounded and connected to source and that infinite supply of inspiration by:

  1. Feeling Your Spirit — when you tap into your innate, you’ll find the peace that dwells within. Engaging in that peace (through meditation, breath-work, yoga, prayer, being in nature, etc.) will bring about more and more harmony. Being in this space not only brings you closer to Source but it’s the breeding ground where all bodacious types of magic and inspiration are born.
  2. Paying Close Attention to the Natural World — when we ‘live close to the ground’ we engage and interact with Gaia — the spirit of this physical world we were born into. When we literally get dirty and immerse our feet in the soil, breathe in the sweet and fruity fragrance of the spring blossoms, dip our hands into a cool brook, study the busy activities of the birds up above and contemplate the majesty of a delicate flower — we step into awe and wonder at a system we cannot fully comprehend but are full of respect for. Paying very close attention to the natural kingdom can show us meaning and understanding in our own personal struggles. Become more aware when you are outdoors — look, listen, learn and drink in the beauty that surrounds and wants to interact with you.
  3. Seeing Divinity Everywhere and in Everything — it’s easy to forget that Source is omnipotent. When you remind yourself and experience the verity that the God-force is in every living thing, you can begin to shift your perspective to align with gratitude. Source is ready to commune with you — are you willing to receive the blessing?
  4. Aligning Your Thoughts with Spirit — our thoughts can steer us in the right or wrong direction. Don’t forget to check in with your innate, on occasion, to monitor if your feelings or gut instincts are in vibrational alignment with your spirit. If you’re veering onto a path that feels wrong, you can always change your destination by choosing new thoughts.

What Excuse is Keeping You From Your Creativity?

This is going to be short, sweet and to the point because I’m in a ‘no bullshit’ kind of mood today.

I’m Pointing my Finger at You!

If you are someone who knows they have an artistic streak buried inside (and believe me, this is aimed at most of the global population) and is not expressing it due to failure of inspiration/motivation/so-called ability or inability/having time/blah blah blah…This blog is for you!

Yes, you know who you are.

Extricating All Obstacles from Every Crevice

There is really only one way to put this.  Either go get a box of matches, erect a neat little pile of kindling, light it and hover your backside over the flames (aka. get a fire lit under your arse!) or you can gently remove the finger that is plugging up your nether regions (i.e. pull finger!).

No seriously, this is a no-brainer, if you want to get creative you will find a way.  If you make excuses  you are shooting yourself in the foot — you are the only loser in this game of if’s and but’s (or butt’s, as this case may be).

There is no need to ‘think’ about it, there is only a need to act.  Simple.

Well?  What are you waiting for!  Get going!!!  As Yoda said, ‘do or do not, there is no try’.

Incredible Inspiring Art by Stephen Wiltshire

How to Get Your Creative Space Working For You

I had not picked up a paint-brush in ages.  I decided a few months back to devote my time to writing and the site.  But, to be perfectly honest with you, I am missing the art side of things like crazy.

I suppose you can’t just switch something off in you that is innate and is trying to bash down the walls to come out again.

My Studio — the Graveyard

I was also feeling trapped and confined in my creative working area — my studio and office space are one room.  It had become a dumping ground with boxes bursting at the seems full of, well, for want of a better word…crap.  There were also boxes in there for donation that had been sitting there for at least 6 months.

My studio had become a morgue, a place for things to come and die.

When I made my decision to stop painting for a while, I still allowed myself personal time to paint and get creative for myself but not even this was happening.  It’s a case of ‘no-shit-Sherlock’ if you had to take a look at my studio.

I had my painting desk facing the corner of the room like I was in the ‘dunce’ timeout zone.  A really stupid place to put a table where you are going to hopefully create works of fine art.

Making the Artist Retreat Respectable

Last week I got a huge yellow and black bee up my bonnet and decided to make a concerted effort to beautify, clear up and simplify my space to best work for me.

I buzzed hither and thither on my mission of organization and beautification.  I even made it into a little spiritual retreat with fairy lights dangling from my curtain rail to candles and incense burners dotted around.

After this was done, I actually got a bit of painting in!  Can I hear a ‘whoop whoop‘?

Let the Creative Juices Flow…

I wanted today’s creativity/inspirational blog to be about why we need to create, what get’s us going?  What do other artists and masterminds have to say.  I stumbled upon this great blog called ’15 Famous Quotes on Creativity’ — well worth a read.

Here are my top 3 favourite quotes from this article.
