4 Cures for Negative Thinking

My friend and I were out walking this morning around the neighborhood when we noticed some magnificent landscaping and flower beds to die for!  We were also, funnily enough, talking about having foggy, congested heads (physically and mentally) because of the amount of time we are spending on our computers.  We both happen to be writers.

I found that looking at these spectacular gardens really opened up my heart space and led me to think about this concept of the mind/garden metaphor.

If we can just give ourselves time in our own gardens (minds) to prune back, weed and cut off any dead branches and scrape up old leaves off the grass, we would be able to temper that stuffy headedness.

Back to my morning stroll…we then went on to discuss how meditation, exercise, getting out into nature and yoga work to unclog this tightness and tiredness in the head.

So, some good practices to follow when you feel your thoughts aren’t being honorable paying guests in your head are to:

1. Gift yourself some time for space and clarity

This doesn’t have to be for very long stretches (however long you want) but make sure it is at least 10-15 minutes of down-time.  You can sit in your garden, park or in a comfortable quiet space and reflect on your thoughts.  Realign them to what you feel comfortable with.  Then simply let all your thoughts dissolve and sit in stillness.  Observe what comes up and then put it aside.  Enjoy the space of just being.  We are human BEINGS not human DOINGS.  Don’t forget that.

2. Assess yourself and think gratitude 

If you are having a lot of negative, worrisome thoughts, ask yourself if they are really necessary?  Is worrying about it going to change anything?  How can you steer them onto a different more nurturing path?  Can you list a few things you are grateful for? Better still, get yourself a gratitude journal and make it a daily practice.

Conversely, if a person habitually thinks optimistically and hopefully, his positive thinking sets in motion creative forces — and success instead of eluding him flows toward him ~ Norman Vincent Peale

3. Go for a walk or do some yoga

Any kind of exercise can actually give you a huge boost.  I know a lot of people who are tired and worn out from a hard day’s work don’t particularly care for physical movement.  Perhaps you think it is the last thing that can help but it really can.  Just 20-30 minutes can really get you to shift stagnant energy and get your system up and firing.

4. Breathe properly

Take a few good and hearty breathes.  This is a wonderful grounding tool and can get you into balance very quickly.  Most of us breathe very shallowly, not allowing for the body to become fully oxygenated.  Try to take in enough breath as to fill your lungs and spill over into your stomach (you should look like your pregnant — that is an indicator that you have got in enough air). Breathe in to the count of 5, hold it to the count of 5 and then consciously breathe out to the count of 5.  This enlivens and awakens your mind — try it, you’ll see.

Simulation Life on Earth: How to Play the Game

Let me play devils advocate and say that we’re in a matrix or holographic universe. You can liken this to being in a computer game.

If you’ve ever engaged in a computer game, you know that you’re playing a game.

The only problem with our collective perceived reality is that we’ve forgotten we’re in the ‘game’.

Quiet time quote by cherie roe dirksenWhen you’re immersed in a computer game, you’re physical body is the ‘player’ and can be likened to the higher mind (or HQ). Your avatar body (the dude/dudette in the game) is like your physical body in the matrix taking commands from the ‘player’ of the game (or HQ in the spirit realm).

Your physical body in the game conceives of your moves ‘cause it has the ‘birds eye view’. Your avatar body within the game responds to the prompts from the physical body.

I think our HQ — in so called ‘reality’ — can see what’s ahead as it sits on the mountain (or in the etheric plane) and views the quickest route to any destination.

We, in the physical plane, only get to see what’s dead ahead  or in our peripherals and therefore can’t conceive (the job of HQ) of how we will get somewhere.

When the HQ sends down its ‘command’, we receive the prompt and take action through perceiving and playing the game.

We need quiet time — or meditation/nature time — because this is when the higher self can communicate the plan to you.

I think we volunteered to play this game of life. Through forgetting we are the players immersed in this virtual reality, we became ‘victims’.

There’s a BBC cult classic comedy called ‘Red Dwarf’ that I absolutely love. There are many didactic and philosophical moments to this series.

One of the best episodes was when they were playing a game called ‘Better Than Life’. They were wired up to the console and the computer read their deepest desires and then produced their realities from that.

Out of the four characters playing the game, one had his subconscious mind sabotage his happiness at every point. He could be likened to the majority of humanity. He believed deep down that he didn’t deserve ‘good things’ so his psyche would initially give him what he wanted but then would take it away in the most heinous and gruesomely inventive ways.

The game played out his every horror while the others were in their own personal heavens.

In conclusion, don’t you think it’s time to stop letting the game play you? Instead, you need to start playing the game!

Bursting at the Seams

gratitudeI recently had my hot water cylinder burst. Instead of having a hab-dab about it — I got on with boiling a kettle and doing the necessaries to carry on with my life (washing the bod and doing the dishes sort-of-thing).

The plumbers could only come out on the Monday and I had the weekend to look forward to with my new kettle-heating regime.

I actually had fun with it. I became outrageously grateful for having a kettle and running water. Even more gratitude flowed at the thought of a new, swanky hot water cylinder that was soon to be mine!

Give Yourself a Reason to be Happy

how to future project a better outcomeI also like the adage that things happen for a reason. When the plumbers left, they told us that they had to replace the pipes as they were not up to standard and would have created further problems.

I now have a new and working hot water system and it looks like we dodged a bullet that could’ve been an even bigger headache. I’m as pleased as punch.

No-one likes inconvenience but how about transforming even irritants into solutions and something to be happy about? When I let my pride take the back seat, I discovered a remarkable game that I could undeniably learn from whilst enjoying some quiet, reflective, quality time with my partner.

I found it a relaxing pursuit with red-hot moments of intensive brain-stretching — a great way to quantize your thinking.  It not only takes the grey matter for a stroll around the yard but also teaches you valuable lessons in forethought, planning, awareness and defense tactics.

Has Anyone Seen the Bishop?

I started to see more spiritual truths in chess the more we played; in fact it was beginning to be a remarkable representation of life!

It aroused me to apply these teaching to my own life situations and, if not why not, to other people’s life circumstances too.  A lot of people are already either inadvertently or deliberately playing chess with their situations and relationships.

It opened my eyes and taught me that there is usually either a way to slip out of trouble or to catch yourself and your opponent by surprise with your brilliant and calm maneuvering capabilities.

Be Your Own Knight in Shining Armor

Just when things start to look hopeless, you view your game from a different angle or perspective and you move to the side and allow danger to pass.  What a great allegory for life!

Here are some of the life strategies chess has permitted me to comprehend:

  • Multi-layers — there is always more than meets the eye in any given situation.
  • Patience — slow and steady wins the race.
  • Side-Stepping — there is usually either an evasive move or a counter-action you can take when in the face of danger.  Don’t lose hope.
  • Shifting Views — when things are looking dire for you, all you may need is a shift in perspective that can open up new doorways.
  • Positive Outlook — always try to stay optimistic and you will habitually figure out a good move to make.
  • Acknowledgments — congratulate your opponent on good moves — you can learn from them too.  Don’t let your pride get in the way of wisdom.
  • Grace — be a good loser because you never really lose in life, you just start a new game and learn from the previous one. So hone in on your skills by learning from your mistakes — nothing is ever in vain.  Be a gracious winner too, there is no room for friends in your life if your big head is taking up all the space!
  • Always Have Fun — enjoy the process, the game of chess (life) is exciting, invigorating and challenging — all of which keep you feeling alive, vibrant, polished and motivated.

Metaphors and Metamorphosis — from Pawns to Kings

I love painting life experience with intriguing metaphors and feel even more elated when such an analogy becomes a bald-faced truth.

Chess quoteWhen we can become the observers of life’s smaller things, like an innocent fixture of chess, and transform it into a fresh perspective of life, it changes us.  We start looking all over for these spiritual growth sign-posts and we usually find them in the strangest of places.

Chess is the ultimate sport of existence and even though I know the strategies have been used in more negative life experiences, such as war and devious corporate obliteration, it can also be used to your advantage in co-creating your reality.

Give yourself a game plan and be flexible enough to discern inherent dangers whilst on track, this way you will be able to metaphorically duck and dive bullets (just like Neo in The Matrix movie).  Be cunning and graceful and you will never be caught off guard.  When you are, don’t give up, learn from it and reload your experience as ammunition for the next round.

There is never failure, only feedback.

Synchronicity is Your Ultimate Guide

Well, the dictionary states that it is the occurrence of events and especially psychic events (as similar thoughts in widely separated persons or a mental image of an unexpected event before it happens) that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality.

In laymen’s terms, it is simply being in the right place at the right time to receive the right information.  Now, why is this important — surely these kinds of events are just coincidences?

Defining Coincidence

End of season sale!Let’s break this word down to better understand it.  ‘Co’ means mutual and, of course, ‘incident’ means an event or occurrence.  Coincidence is pretty much a dead ringer for synchronicity but why do most people ‘brush’ things of as mere coincidence when, in fact, both coincidence and it’s relative – synchronicity – are profound states of universal flow?

When we are young, magic surrounds us — life is the biggest trip ever!  Sadly, as we become adults, we lose that awe for the mysterious and start putting things down to chance or luck and we start to give a rather cynical meaning to a beautiful word: co-incidence.

Should You Read More into Coincidence?

Yes!  The statistics of you being at that ‘right place at the right time’ are phenomenally low, so when they occur it is in your best interest to take very serious note of the message behind the encounter.  Then act on it.

“All of us, whether or not we are warriors, have a cubic centimeter of chance that pops out in front of our eyes from time to time. The difference between an average man and a warrior is that the warrior is aware of this, and one of his tasks is to be alert, deliberately waiting, so that when his cubic centimeter pops out he has the necessary speed, the prowess, to pick it up.”

For example:

You have been thinking of an old childhood friend, even possibly been dreaming of them.  Then one day, at the supermarket, your trolley collides with another trolley.  You look up to apologize and there is the friend you’ve been thinking of.

So What Does it all Mean?

All meaning could be different according to personal circumstances but let’s take a few possible meanings:

  • This person may have some valuable information for you. It could be that they know someone who could help you with that project you’re working on.
  • It could be that your friend may need your expertise with solving a problem.
  • Or it could simply be that you need to catch up and share some precious life experiences with each other.

The meanings may differ but the little gems that pop up as ‘coincidences’ are rarely of no use.  Sometimes we have to pan for gold.  It can take days to recognize that little nugget of truth that was meant for you in the synchronous event that took place.

Flex That Synchronous Muscle!

The good news is, the more aware you are of synchronicity and how it breezes in and out of your life to steer you to your greater good, the more you’ll start unraveling the unique tapestry of your life and destiny.  This is why Deepak Chopra refers to this phenomenon as ‘Synchrodestiny’.

When you learn to use synchronicity, you’ll start to follow the breadcrumbs to fulfilling your dreams.  Be careful of shrugging events off as mere coincidence because that’s exactly what they’ll become.  Take joy in uncovering the pearls of wisdom in these packages.

Let me give you an example of a huge shift that took place recently in my life thanks to allowing synchronicity to work for me.

 

I recently had my bank account hacked into and a vast sum of money stolen over a period of 2 days.  It was a red-tape nightmare but I eventually got refunded by the bank.

Just last month, the same thing happened with an account I have at a different bank — thankfully, a smaller amount was stolen but the same principle had occurred.  I started to get metaphysically suspicious.  What was the universe trying to tell me?

Sometimes synchronicity isn’t as pleasant as having a catch-up cuppa with an old friend — it can come as an earthquake to rattle your cage of complacency.

Figuring Out the Puzzle

Suffice to say, I don’t believe in mere coincidence in the dull sense of the word — everything happens for a reason.

I started to pick this puzzle apart.  What I found stunned me.

I realized that I had a tremendous ‘painbody’ (a phrase coined by Eckhart Tolle to describe a collective energy within the self that feeds of the pain of a certain incident(s) and affects us subliminally) around money.

I am good at accumulating lump sums but then proceed to either spend, lose or give it away bypassing any form of financial literacy or sustainable income.

The Puzzle Goes Quantum!

A friend of mine also pointed out that money is just energy.  If I was having large sums of this ‘energy’ stolen from me it could also be a reflection of my personal life.

She was right.  I was also giving away my energy (in the form of attention,  in this case) to something that did not serve me.

I started hauling in all this valuable information to analyze.  Synchronously, my neighbor gave me a book to read, called ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki, which I devoured.  It was as if it was written just for me!

I started to implement some of my findings and got immediate feedback from the universe.

Within days of me making a conscious shift about my attitude towards money, someone accidentally put a large sum of money into my bank account.

Even though, a week later, the sum of money was reversed — my situation had changed!  Instead of people taking money out, they were putting it in!  That was my confirmation that I had truly shifted my perspective and that things were on a new track.

But You Never Kept the Money!

In both instances (whether having the money purposefully stolen or accidentally given), a message was being delivered.  I always had the money reimbursed by the bank in the case of the theft and my account returned to normal in the case of the deposit.  So there was no physical gain of money but the metaphysical message was received.

The message delivered was that there was a problem with my mental attitude towards money and the message was received and acknowledged by the shift in physical occurrence — one could say a wink from the universe.

If I didn’t realize that my money being stolen was no mere coincidence, I would have plodded on feeling like a victim of circumstance instead of seeing the opportunity that was being offered to change my financial attitude.

Life can be wonderful when you’re a dreamer. Life can be even more wonderful when you are a dreamer and a doer!

Nothing trips us up more that boredom or monotony. As the saying goes, ‘boring is as boring does’. But, lucky for us, we live in a world full of unmapped, unexplored and unchartered territory — both physically and metaphysically.

What a cause for celebration!

Ready For Expanded Thinking?

“After all, the word ‘impossible’ only really spells out ‘I’m Possible’.”

You’ve probably realized by now that you are the one creating your life experience by what you’re feeling and doing in this NOW moment. Your past does not define you but your present shapes your future.

If your life is not exciting you, you’re the one forgetting to inject the zest.

So why not start the day, as Lewis Carroll so aptly suggested, by thinking of 6 (even 1 will do!) impossible things you could do to explode the old and catalyze the new. After all, the word ‘impossible’ only really spells out ‘I’m Possible’.

Let me suggest some starting points:

  1. Start Small. Imagine something you want that you’re likely to be able to achieve today. This could be anything from doing that chore that’s been irritating you to exploring a new path whilst taking the dogs for a walk. Why is this going to help you? Because tackling household/garden jobs that you put off give you an immense sense of satisfaction when you finally do them — it incites you to do more tomorrow. Trying new things like taking a walk where you’ve never ventured before is breaking routine and while routine can be a good thing in some areas of your life it can also kill adventure.
  2. Think Big. Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but never got around to? Do you think you’re too old to play the piano? Or too overweight to water ski? Or maybe you think you’re too poor to travel? Think again! It’s those ‘I’m Possible’ dreams that light a fire under the derriere and bring back sensational living! Where there’s a will there’s a way, so start off by finding a picture of your desire and pin it to your vision board (you know, that thing you have up somewhere in your house to remind you of what you want to manifest. Don’t have one yet? There’s your other I’m Possible task!) and start taking action along with looking out for synchronicities (don’t know what that is? READ HERE). Impossible is sure to follow!
  3. Visualize. Like I said in point no. 2 — get your vision board started and watch the impossible happen! There’s nothing like walking into your office (or whatever room applies here) and seeing all those pretty pictures of things to keep aligning yourself to. We think we know what we want but, back in reality, there are so many thoughts coursing through our brain that we tend to ‘backseat’ our dreams in lieu of daily matters. Then we forget the things (big or small) that mean something to us. Don’t let your dreams escape you! Every time you think of something you would like to experience — pin it! I walked into a fabulous spa the other day and took one of their brochures. Why? Because even though I wasn’t in town to get a massage that day, it’s something I would love to experience — so, it’s now firmly pinned to my vision board. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve eventually disregarded wanting a sensational 2 hour treatment and would’ve also probably forgotten about the spa itself nevermind it’s location. Now I won’t ’cause I see it every day and smile when I think of going there for my special treat.
  4. Alice in Wonderland QuoteA Pat on the Back. Stop every day to think of the wonderful things you have accomplished thus far in your life. We very seldom stop to let things sink in. It could be the fact that you raised an awesome child (it probably felt impossible when you first looked into his/her eyes as a newborn) or you finally conquered a fear and boarded a plane one day and went overseas for the first time (which may have sparked many other trips). Some things may seem old hat to some and incredible feats to others — don’t underestimate what you’ve accomplished. Even the little things shape our lives. Give yourself some kudos and then keep doing more impossible things!
  5. Burn the Box! You’ve heard of thinking outside the box — which is the Impossible Club’s credo — but burning the box is more potent. In fact, the box never existed in the first place, Schrodinger! Stretch your mind to the infinite possibility of all realities in all directions of space and time. Try lucid dreaming and cruise the universe — let your impossible imagination run riot. The universe is expanding and creating the most beautiful work of art with all its nebulae, solar systems, whirling galaxies and neutron star collisions just to name a few. Expand your mind to take it all in and then apply it to your life. How can you be creatively expansive? How can you use your divine talents to smear this life experience with explosive colour, fizzing verve and sparkling tenacity? Baby, you’re a firework! Thanks Ms. Perry, how right you are.
  6. Rest. Doing relentlessly impossible things all day requires that you need a balance of good R&R. But don’t stop your imagination from thinking of impossible ways to relax. You can dream up a wild bath-time relaxation routine that involves submarines, rubber ducks and lavender oil or you could take some time out to shut those weary little eyes and have a night full of dreaming up new ways to be a super nova!

And remember — you’re the only one who can make the impossible possible.

What is the difference between prayers, affirmations and spells? In my opinion…nothing. They are just different tools to accomplish the same thing.

We all know that words are powerful. Their very vibration can heal us, build us up, convey our love or sway us to kill each other, tear us down, cast doubt and pain…you get the picture.

How you use the word is your baby — as is using any kind of energy (words are energetic as they carry a frequency). It’s a responsibility in and of itself.

Hate speech or gossip can greatly affect the lives of the people you are casting the words at or about. Speaking positive, loving words can also affect the ones we are directing the energy towards.

Which Team Are You On?

There are pretty much 2 teams that I know of:

  1. Service to self or
  2. Service to others.

“A person standing in the light has a shadow.  A person standing in the dark has none.  What does this mean?  Even the best of us have shadows.” Read more about the Shadow Self here.

Even Star Wars brings up this concept through the Sith and the Jedi.

The Sith are classically STS and the Jedi are STO. They both know how to use The Force and there is a fine line that separates ‘good’ from ‘evil’ (something we all must discover within — use our intuition/discernment) which is why it is important to work on accepting and understanding your shadow self.

Party Tricks and Life Conundrums

We all use words, don’t we? Every day. For some of us, every second of every day.

I create as I speakOn some level, you have been casting spells all the time. Look back at your life and try to see how the words you use — to describe yourself or your body, your partner, your children/family/friends, your colleagues, your job, your finances, your car, your neighborhood — are all what you may be experiencing now.

It’s one thing to know a good card trick or to pull something out of the hat but it’s another thing to consciously realize that every thought you think, every word you utter is a declaration of what you are calling into being.

Makes you think, doesn’t it? It also makes you want to staple your gob shut! Lol. Good news is, you can direct your words through awareness.

Here’s what you CAN do to be more mindful of the words you are speaking and how it can change your life and the lives of those around you:

  1. You can easily catch yourself gossiping and turn it around or just stop, apologize to whomever you are speaking to and explain that this is not serving anyone.
  2. You can undoubtedly stop criticizing yourself, your appearance, your children, your partner or anyone else when you’re alert.
  3. You can assuredly choose better words to describe your situation, whatever it may be, to reflect a proclamation of what you want instead of what you think ‘is’. Life doesn’t have to be what it is right now if that’s not what you want. What you are experiencing now is the magic performed yesterday. You’re not a victim of circumstance — you can participate right now in creating a new life as if by magic (*wink, wink, nudge, nudge*).

Hocus pocus? Well, if you think so then so shall it be. That’s how magical you are, you prestidigitator!

  • Ever spoken to someone who isn’t really listening?
  • Ever started a conversation and you can just sense your partner is more interested in saying what he/she wants to say without regard to your input?

We’ve all been there.

It’s not a great feeling to waste your breath and effort when you just know it’s falling upon deaf ears or when you’re just not being ‘heard’. Sometimes we feel like we’re in the firing range of someone’s motor-mouth and you’re being spoken ‘at’ and not ‘to’!

Wits End Meets Heart Opening

I’m afraid I’m losing my patience with people who are talking to me with their ‘heads’.

What do I mean?

You’re being spoken at by a person who is only interested in getting their logical perspective across irrespective of what their heart is trying to express. It’s kind of a heart bypass that shoots straight to the thought process.

When we communicate with our hearts we first open a space for dialogue to begin. A dialogue that is receptive as well as giving — where you give a person a chance to speak and they reciprocate.

How Do I Begin Heart Dialogue?

Firstly, you need to drop into your heart space (where your physical heart resides).

Your heart emits a frequency that can be measured (in fact, its electromagnetic field is 500 times stronger than that of the brain) and when 2 or more people are communicating through this frequency, you will have a better chance of clear, pure, flowing, integral dialogue.

Your quality of conversation is going to be better because you are not only conversing with language and emotion but with feeling too. The other person is going to connect with your field and be ‘in tune’, so to speak, with you. So, it’s more likely that any deception will be picked up by that innate part of you that can hone in on these things.

Secondly, when you communicate from your heart, you open yourself up to a more truthful, no-bullsh*t kind of conversation (you know — the ones worth having!).

Your words will flow with more ease and fluidity.

When you trust that what needs to be said will be said, you have no need to rush your words. Have you noticed how most spiritual teachers speak very slowly and with great distinctness? You will, most likely, be guided to say what needs to be said without having to beat around the bush, flounder or hog the floor unnecessarily.

Straight From the Horses Mouth

I was having a conversation the other day and what would have taken me half an hour to explain just drifted calmly out of my mouth in about 3 sentences. They were succinct, truthful and to the point. No waffling.

It was great!

I haven’t been particularly loquacious these past few months and have been feeling very foggy and scrambled in the head of late (ditsy blonde that I am!) but more frequently I am finding the right words at the right time.

Either that or I end up grinning like a Cheshire cat or expressing myself through interpretive dance.

I’m really rooting for full-on telepathic communication in the not-so-distant future. Truth be told, I’ve already begun to experience this kind of connection and I can’t wait for it to go mainstream!

I hope you will start to have more meaningful, inspiring tête-à-têtes in your NOW moments.

‘Love is what binds us, respect is what unites us. To have love and respect for all life forms guarantees you an excellent quality of life because you will be walking around in sheer reverence to all you come across. There will never be a dull or uninspired moment.’

You want to know what that tangy little secret ingredient is, right? You clicked on this article because you’re itching to find out if you own this substance — if it’s hiding in your pantry waiting to be shaken in to the soup of existence. You want that brilliant and fulfilling life, don’t you?

Well then, you may initially be disappointed to know that the secret is not going to be found in:

  • great looks (sorry…pouting for the next Instagram selfie just ain’t going to bring you lasting satisfaction),
  • money (money can’t buy you love — thanks Mr Lennon/McCartney for those words of wisdom),
  • stardom (celebrity is as celebrity does…you can have fame and be happy — if you possess the ingredient — but fame itself is barren without it),
  • recognition (it’s nice to be ‘noticed’ for your achievements but that still won’t fill the void).

While all the above attributes may bring temporary satisfaction, none of them will necessarily contribute to lasting joy.

That can only be found in one tasty ingredient.

But first let’s examine what could bring this entire planet into alignment (metaphysically speaking, that is).

What We Can Do NOW to Expedite Love in the World

In Lak’ech Ala K’in is a Mayan saying that simply translated means ‘I am another you‘ or ‘I am you, you are me.

This principle begs us to treat each other with appreciation — it asks us to see our sisters/brothers from other mothers as our own kin. It implores us to love all the children of the world as if they emerged from your own womb/seed. We need to rekindle the spark that respects everyone and everything’s right to life and a reverence for existence.

When you are able to love yourself (not to be mistaken with narcissism or selfishness), you naturally begin to love and respect others as well as every other form of life you encounter — including inanimate objects.

Huh?

Everything on this planet has a presence, from the rocks, plants and animals to the soil, worms and the very core of the earth itself.

Imagine a world where everyone had the exact same amount of love and respect for EVERY life form as they do for their own self (assuming that you have mastered the ability of self-love, that is).

But now we’re encroaching on the nitty-gritty…the ingredient!

Stocking Your Pantry With*Drumroll*…

The secret ingredient, self love.

‘Respect yourself and others will respect you.’ — Confucius

You can’t possibly expect other people to love you if you don’t love yourself. It may appear as if people love you but if you harbor resentment, self-hate or any kind of negative emotion towards yourself, you’re setting yourself up for huge pitfalls in all your other relationships.

I’ve heard people say that they can’t love themselves because of all their ‘imperfections’.

Just the word ‘imperfect’ states that I’m perfect.

You’ve got to learn to love all the ‘I’m Perfects’ in yourself. I’m not talking about empty affirmations, I’m talking about getting down deep and dirty and dusting out all the corners of your self. Ask yourself:

  1. What is it I don’t like about myself?
  2. Can I do anything about it?
  3. If yes, am I willing to change and start loving myself through the process?
  4. If not, can I learn to love the way I am instead of the way I think I ought to be?
  5. Is it society/family/friends/religion that prevents me from accepting myself?
  6. If none of the above existed would I feel happy with who I am?

‘Know Thyself.’ — Greek Proverb

You’ve got to mine yourself for these answers. Whatever you come up with, then ask yourself:

If this trait was in someone else (preferably someone you love — like your partner/child/favorite celebrity) would you still love them?

The answer, in my experience, is usually an emphatic ‘Yes!’. So, why don’t we give ourselves the same leeway?

IMHO…Weird is Wonderful!

If you don’t love yourself for:

  • something you’ve done in the past then try to make amends for it and/or forgive yourself. If you find it difficult to forgive others then you may find that it’s because you are not forgiving yourself for something. If you find it easy to forgive others but not yourself, you need to question why you think you’re not worth it. Every single person is a creation of Source and, yes, that includes you! You need to embrace the inner divinity that is craving your love.
  • the way you look then try to remember that the most intriguing people are beautiful despite not having ‘model’ looks (beauty is in the eye of the beholder and in having moxy!). Sometimes what we consider hideous others consider unique and beguiling. Your personality and integrity is what is most attractive. Get the inside right and the outside will glow — even if you don’t look like J-Lo.
  • certain traits that you feel you can’t change. Remember that you can completely turn your life around if you think you can. If you feel you can’t change your actions or ways, you’re wrong. When you are aware of something within you that needs to be worked on, you can do or change anything! But remember to love yourself through the process.

Self love will change the world as we know it. Everything I’ve studied to date with regards to the human condition and self development has always led me back to self love. Without it we are lost. With it we are whole. With it, we can change the world.

I love you, you are worth it!

The Art of Getting Out of Your Own Way

Most of us want to achieve ‘success’ whatever that may be. Some of us get there (wherever ‘there’ is) and some get stuck half way, never make it or don’t even try.

Success, in my opinion, is personal. You may think $1 million in the bank is success and your neighbor may think success is having a family and home to call his own, whilst your buddy thinks success is running a small but lucrative business. His daughter may think of success as getting 200 000 likes on instagram and her brother may think success is passing his finals.

Success is relative and liquid — changing as you change. Don’t let other people or, heaven forbid, society dictate what success is. Read related article: 12 Things Conscious Successful People Do To Excel.

Okay, enough of that…what is the art of getting out of your own way?

Many of us don’t realize we are afraid of success. Even more don’t believe that anyone in their right mind could be afraid of success — after all, isn’t that what we strive for?

Step Aside and Let Yourself Pass

Frankly, yes, we can be afraid of success. Here’s a checklist of things to consider on your path to glory or unclogging the drain that may be blocking your victory:

  1. Truth and honesty. You’ve got to get down to brass tacks with yourself — no point deceiving the prime character. We can, on occasion, convince ourselves that we are living our truth but deep down we know when we’re lying to ourselves. Sometimes it’s not even that blatant — it could be a tiny little lie like ‘I’m not worthy‘ that could be stunting your capability for greatness. You may even fear taking the first step towards your desire for fear of failure. You’ve got to realize that everybody fails, success is getting back up and going for it with more gusto!
  2. Belief Assessment. We subconsciously hold onto a lot of limiting beliefs passed down to us from parents, pastors, teachers, friends, siblings or anyone else we looked up to. It’s time to let that sh*t go. No judgment attached — just make sure you’re not holding onto a belief that doesn’t serve you. Some of these could be that ‘you’re not working hard enough’, ‘money is the root of all evil’(well, that will put a quick stop to success!) or ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ (I beg to differ! It’s made of notes, right? Follow the paper trail, dude). If you’re running the program that you could be doing more and working harder, you may be running yourself into the ground trying to do do do (hmmm…that reminds me of a Police song). We are human beings not human doings. We work best when we’re clear headed (especially in our thoughts) of where and what we are heading for. Getting bogged down in excessive doing only clogs the system. I’m not saying you mustn’t take action, of course you must — just keep it real.   3. Meditation. It’s great to get clear (as previously mentioned) about where you are going and the best way to do this is to devote just 10 minutes a day (in the morning or evening or whenever it feels right) to practice getting quiet. If there is too much mind chatter in the old noggin then that’s really going to hamper your success. Read related article: 5 Easy Steps to Meditating (No Lotus Position Required)
  4. SUBSCRIBE icon 1Weeding. Getting real about your beliefs and tuning into how you honestly feel takes a lot of weeding. You’ve got to get rid of the stuff suffocating your dream. Sometimes fear of success is about fearing what success will bring. Sure, it’ll bring more money and prestige but you may deep down feel that the cost of employing a bunch of people may be to irksome. You may think that taking care of a ton of paperwork isn’t fun. You may worry that success will lead to a loss of free time. These are some of the things you have to weed out and alchemize. There’s no doubt that success could bring many, if not all, of these things but you’ll find ways to cope. You can hire people to sort out your books, you can employ a manager to take care of your staff, etc. Sometimes things like this worry us in the recesses of our minds and are not blatantly out in the open.

Getting out of your own way requires bald-faced honesty — mining your psyche for deep-rooted beliefs can be exhausting but, hey, it’s totally worth it! You won’t believe what you’ll find in there that doesn’t belong in your life experience.

4 Tibetan Tips for Longevity

Most of us want an abundant, full life. I stumbled across a beautiful Tibetan proverb on my facebook feed that really made sense.

Let me share it with you:

“The secret to living well and longer is: eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure”

How simple is that?

  1. Eat half — in today’s world, most diets are just too much. A small step you can take to a healthier lifestyle is to lessen your food portions at meal-times. Eat so that you are satiated and not stuffed — take my word for it, it makes you feel much better too! There’s nothing worse than feeling like an overfilled burrito.   2. Walk double — I’m a great advocate of walking. It’s free and easy to do. All you have to do is don your sneakers and head out the door — no gym fees required! Not only does it help you to maintain a healthy weight, it helps in the prevention or management of various conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.   3. SUBSCRIBE icon 1Laugh triple — there are reasons why you should take up laughter today! A good belly wobble decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies. This will improve your resistance to disease. It also triggers the release of those much desired endorphins (your body’s natural feel-fabulous chemicals). Endorphins induce a sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain hence why cancer patients are encouraged to watch copious amounts of comedy.   4. Love without measure — unconditional love does not judge. When you can see the divine in another, you are spreading peace like wildfire. An open heart that has an abundance of love to pour out is the only way we are going to heal not only ourselves but the world. This doesn’t mean you are used as a doormat — some loving is done from a healthy distance. But love and forgiveness can only help heal ourselves and our globe. Don’t forget to pin it!

Some existential theories suggest that the Universe or our current reality is impartial — it’s neutral, like Switzerland. There is no meaning to life except that which we give it.

 

Now before this article starts to sound like a downer, I want to interject that this is actually an outrageously great opportunity and here’s why:

  1. If life has no meaning (impartial, neutral, etc) and we are the ones giving it meaning (after all, it is our playground — our realm of freedom to choose) then we can change the game at any time which is cause for massive celebration!
  2. If we truly are creating our reality (as states the Law of Attraction — which, coincidentally, is also impartial. Read more about that here in this 4 part Law of Attraction series: LOA – Aligning with How You Are Feeling), then we are endowing meaning to our existence all the time whether we’re conscious of it or not. How about making a conscious decision to make it a good one, eh?
  3. We are at a tipping point when we are faced with disappointment — we can either choose to see it as a negative experience or choose to see it as some kind of Divine timing and fall into the arms of the Universe and Trust (with a big T) that the Universe has our backs no matter what.

Let me explain: When you trust with a figurative big ‘T’ it simply means you know there is a bigger picture than the one you are experiencing. When someone breaks your trust (little ‘t’) you still Trust that there is a greater lesson for your soul in there. When you can do this, you’re going to put a positive spin on your life and all the situations you find yourself in.

Choice — Your Gateway to Opportunity

Meaning to Life quoteIf life is indeed meaningless and you give it meaning by your choices, you’re in the drivers seat! Every choice you make could be steering you to positive outcomes, if you allow yourself to charge your life in this new way.

My Recent Disappointment

I was recently very let down by someone that I trusted. I thought they were impeccable with their word and — long story short — they weren’t.

At first I vented out my anger and had a good rant. You know the type, ‘how could they do this to me?’, ‘what an asshole!’, ‘why do people act this way — don’t they have any scruples?’. I’m a huge advocate of letting out your emotions. Think of it like a kettle boiling on the burner with the lid on — you’ve got to relieve the lid at some point to let the steam out, right?

When I’d done my venting and had let out of my system all that needed to be — I started to ask myself these 2 important questions:

  1. What was my lesson? I concluded that this person I was dealing with was not impeccable with their word and that I needed to be cautious with them — which is why I got this ‘little burn’. In fact, by heeding the warning signs of this first let down,  I may have prevented having a kettle full of hot water poured down my front by their actions. Rather a little burn than being scalded.
  2. Is there perhaps something better around the corner that this fallen through agreement has made space for? Yes! I believe so. I don’t know what it is yet but I’m paving the way to give this situation a positive meaning. I trust that everything happens for a reason and that the Universe has my back (‘big T’ Trust in action). The timing is indeed Divine and I’ll curiously await either a better opportunity than the one on offer or keep my eyes peeled for a crisis I may have averted.

  • You feel you need to ‘prepare’ yourself for the worst
  • You are a ‘glass is half empty’ kind of person and just expect the worst to happen
  • It is in your experience that disaster always strikes, so worry is a necessary coping mechanism
  • There are so many things that could go wrong and you feel you need to focus on each one to embody it or try to find a possible solution for it in the event of it happening.

Now, if we actually look at this list from a transpersonal point of view — we take ourselves out of the equation and are impartial — these worries are not only a waste of precious manifesting time but they are a reinforcement of nonconstructive potential timelines.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK

Just remember you bring about what you think about the most.  This is not meant to scare you, it’s a preparation tool so that you can steer your thoughts to more positive neurological pathways.  When you reinforce encouraging situations in your mind, as opposed to harmful scenarios (aka worrying), you are creating potential for a more fruitful future.

Easier said than done?

Sure, but it is possible.

Answer this: Has worrying ever solved your problems anyway?

I’m going to take a stab in the dark and say ‘no’ it probably hasn’t, right?  So, what can you do now to alleviate any future concerns you have?

Eckhart Tolle has pointed out three memorable and straightforward options that you can apply here, either: remove yourself from the situation (in this case, remove the worry), change it (transmute the worrisome thought form), or accept it totally (surrender to any future possibility).  But let’s go into it a bit more:

Here are 5 simple techniques you can carry out when you find yourself in a state of worry:

1. Do Something

Swap worrying for doing. Can you actually do something about it now?  If the answer is yes, take those first steps and you will begin to lighten the load off your mind.  Even if it means writing the problem down.  Just getting it out of your head and onto paper can be a relief.  You can even then burn the paper or trash it symbolizing your new stance on worry.  Tell your troublesome thought who’s the boss! The best thing you can actually do is visualize what you DO want to happen — I can’t stress this enough.

2. Find a Solution

Again, it’s always helpful to write it down so that your mind is free of it.  When you can look at some achievable solutions, you may gain a better perspective of how you can change or alter the course of your quandary. Remember to focus on the desired outcome.

3. Acceptance

If there is absolutely nothing you can do, then try acceptance of what is.  If you cannot change what is, you need to let it go and find peace within your situation. How has this situation affected your life? Is there any diamond you can mine from it? Hint: there usually always is a positive learning when you can train yourself to see something from an alternative perspective.

4. Meditate

Solutions will present themselves when we quiet the mind.  There is a wealth of information just waiting for you to tap into when you are in a meditative state.   Clearing your mind of what I like to call ‘mind-static’ (continuous loops of mind chatter — read related article: How to Stop the ‘Monkey Mind’ Phenomenon) will help you to excavate that pearl of truth and gain a lucid perspective. When you step out of the way — solutions can come in. Your higher self never gives you any challenge that you cannot conquer.

5. Positive Reinforcement

Remind yourself that what you think you attract. Do you want to attract more of what you are worrying about? If not, then switch to thinking about what you do want to manifest in your life and let all negative outcomes go — you don’t need them. Capeesh!

The mind can be trained to think differently — you are 100% in control of your destiny.

SUBSCRIBE icon 1You have a choice to rewire your thought process to align with what you want to manifest — don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.  Don’t fall into the trap of being a ‘victim of circumstance’ — this state doesn’t really exist as you create everything and only you can give it the necessary potency.

Playing any kind of victim role is a disempowering stance that you should avoid at all costs.

You are the powerful creator of your reality and you are in the driver’s seat — where are you going?  Where do you want to go?  Wherever you see yourself in the future just remember, worrying never got anyone anywhere — so…

It’s Time to Go Beyond Belief — Here’s How…

Stepping out of the matrix (our perceived reality) and becoming the ‘watcher’ brings a whole new dimension to life on this plane of existence. When we can observe ourselves in the game of life, we can start to transcend the limitations of belief, purpose and meaning altogether.

Belief, purpose and meaning all hold limitation and keep us locked in details – tethered to the ‘fine print’ and keeping us from experiencing true joy as we constantly try to justify, improve or ‘work on’ ourselves and our lives instead of being happy….like as in ‘right now’.

Playing with belief, purpose and meaning can be gratifying but will only lead you to a certain point in your evolution of consciousness. There is no judgment in having fun with these concepts if that is truly what you are doing – more often than not, we aren’t having fun with them and I think they can be rendered completely redundant.

Cinematic Triumphs

Think back to the Matrix movies – when a person was freed from the matrix, they were able to see that their reality was a construct within which one could manipulate and control circumstances to their advantage. This was clearly demonstrated in the famous scenes of the characters dodging bullets in the most precarious ways, jumping large distances from one building to another and so on and so forth.

As fantastic as this seems, they were still operating in a matrix – a confined reality with rules and regulations.

Saviors in the System

Limitation through Belief QuoteThen came Neo – the chosen one – who transcended the whole matrix program and instead of dodging bullets defied them by seeing through the illusion. The illusion, of course, was that the bullets weren’t real. Why dodge something that doesn’t exist? Neo was merely using the law of least effort and quite rightly so.

Think of the SIMS computer game – there may come a time when one of those characters reaches sentience and realizes that their whole life is merely an illusion

Neo didn’t need to work within the construct of the program referred to as the matrix –  he went beyond it to realize that it was an illusion and that he was infinite possibility in that reality (he even managed to come to this realization out of the program). He therefore did not limit himself to any belief within the matrix.

Banning Belief

Belief, after all, is just limitation through judging one thing as good and another as bad.

For example: I believe to see that life is fair. If I see life as being unfair I am in a negative framework, if I see it as being fair I am in a positive framework (both are polarized and put you in a box). The ‘Neo’ way is to see that life just is. It is impartial. Judging anything as good or bad is just keeping you tethered to the system. Your natural preference system will guide you to choosing what works best for you without judgment.

Aligning with Source 

Neo embodied the premise that he was connected with Source and that he had only to think his will into creation and it became so. Without judgments. Ergo without limitation or any kind of belief structure.

It’s the  knowing that the Universe or Creation has your back and everything is as it should be – your only job is to keep expressing joy and love and you will constantly ascend to abundant new heights without even trying. Your inner radar is always wanting to point you to the highest vibration, it’s your natural magnetic north.

Your job is to allow it to do Its job without your constant interference.

Ponder for a moment: are your beliefs holding you back? Are your thoughts aligned with your heart (innate) or your head (ego).

SUBSCRIBE icon 1For example: Heart may be urging you to play the piano again and compose beautiful music whilst head is saying, ‘I need to make money from this – how am I going to do that? Maybe I should make a CD and charge $10 then if I sell 100 000 I will finally be happy and rich’. If you let heart win, then you will let go of trying to control the gift and there’ll be no anxiety or high expectations only joy, satisfaction and contentment (which will inevitably bring you into a higher frequency and you will manifest abundance without limitation) as you become fully immersed in the moment in expressing your creativity. Head wants to control how you manifest wealth and it will drive you crazy for the rest of your life as it whines on and on about how you need to manipulate the process. It will keep telling you you need more and you’ll never be satisfied.

One path leads to joy and the other leads to frustration.

The law of attraction is simple cause and effect – you keep on thinking and feeling a certain way and you will cause an effect in your reality (everything you have in your life is a manifestation of the LOA). Using the LOA to effect your life in a more positive manner is a great tool (it’s like those training wheels on a bicycle) but it can also only get you so far before we use it as a belief system and put ourselves (and the LOA) very neatly into another box.

In my most humble opinion, if you want to take the LOA to a new level we are going to have to stop ‘using’ it and simply ‘be’ it. Transcend all the tools and training wheels and start to get that we ARE the law of attraction – we are infinite possibility.

Be like Neo and let it all go so you can rocket and soar above the clouds.

I’m going to play devils advocate and suggest that we are, indeed, living in a construct matrix or hologram (keep in mind that these are just words to be used as ‘training wheels’ for the analogy or concept) and it may be entirely possible for us to change our very own DNA.

“What is real? How do you define real? If you’re talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.” ~Morpheus (The Matrix)

Just imagine a computer programmer writing a code for a client. The client asks if the code can be slightly altered here and there to accommodate his/her needs and the programmer obliges.

Now let’s take our own DNA — which I believe is our pre-programmed and programmable ‘code’. Some have suggested that we inherit certain characteristics from our ancestors, some even suggest we have an akashic record written into our DNA code (which is past life experiences).

If we run on autopilot, we’ll most likely experience this pre-programmed code in the form of anger issues, pain-bodies (the triggering of certain deep, seemingly uncontrollable emotions like sexism, racism, xenophobia, etc), following disease patterns from parents/grandparents/family or any other set of predesignated rules.

Although I’m not disputing that we do inherit certain genes or even past-life encryption, I think it absolutely possible to override the program.

Clearing the Cache

They say that awareness is 50% of the problem solved — so, when you can become aware that reality may actually be the ultimate illusion, it’s a game changer.Lucid Dream Quote

Think of reality as more of a lucid dream. What is a lucid dream? A PROGRAMMABLE dream — one where you get to know you’re dreaming and can then start manipulating the dream to reflect what you want instead of always being afraid of the bogeyman in the closet.

How to work the other half of the 50% — in my very fresh and new experience (i.e. I’m just a floundering pup in a quantum puddle of potentials and possibilities) — is to use your thoughts as the keyboard (typing out the commands to HQ and the body template). Your thoughts are the tool to affect and redesign within the illusion.

That’s why the first leg of our journey into awareness was learning about the Law of Attraction (which is somewhat of a dichotomous title as everything you ever want or needed is with you — no need to attract it — and every moment is NOW so it cannot be coming from some place other than where you are NOW but that’s another wormhole for another day).

Clearing your cache is more about letting go of what you DON’T want so that what you DO want remains. This day is the first day of the rest of your life — leave all prior bullsh*t at the door, please!

Time to Hit the Publish Button

I’m not saying that Rome was built in a day. Unless you’re some wunderkind, most of us take a bit of time to reach this stage of lucid dream/reality manipulation.

Believability is key, so ask for signs and synchronicities (read more here: Why Synchronicity Can Change Your Life) that you are a divine being having a jolly good time in a construct reality (’cause like in theStar Trek holodeck — it’s supposed to be fun, functional, recreational and/or informational). Remember that your soul/existence is the only reality.

Level Up

What works for me is simply starting my day off, as soon as I opSUBSCRIBE icon 1en my eyes, with the thought that it’s going to be a great day and I am 100% healthy from top to toe. Go on to list what you want to see happen and keep close check on your emotional output throughout the day.

Don’t say you want financial freedom and then keep talking about and feeling lack — don’t say you want the perfect mate and then project how inadequate, unlovable and lonely you feel (remember that any relationship starts with YOU — you’ve got to have healthy self love to be in any successful coupling. Emotional outbursts alter our moods and manifesting prowess, so, if you do get sucked into a downer — realign as quickly as possible.

Try building a catch phrase to keep your head above water (a kind of mental flashcard app). Something like, ‘All is perfectly well in my world’ or ‘I create abundance all the time ’cause I’m the shiz niz’.

Make it funny, make it you, make it work! Being light-hearted is a fast-track to personal freedom.

Baby, You’re a Firework!

‘Tis the season to be jolly — people all over the globe are dusting off the mistletoe, donning the lip-gloss and puckering up for the long line of friends and family just waiting to be welcomed inside cozy, fire-lit domiciles.

However, there is a darker side to the holidays (ho ho…eh? Bah humbug!).

Being within close proximity to certain near and dear ones — over vast periods of celebratory time — can lead to some harrowing gas-lighting, festering underlying issues (especially as we’ve just come out of Mercury Retrograde and may still be feeling its keen sting hampering our effective communique), compounding anxieties and stresses and — let’s face it — emotional outbursts.

Invariably, some wild and uncouth words could get slung about the Christmas dining table this year!

We’ve all probably experienced our fair share of family squabbling during holiday gatherings but how can you ride out the storm without having a huge blow-out before you’ve even got to sample that hot, steamy Christmas pudding?

Christmas Zen QuoteRemaining calm and peaceful at family reunions is no small feat — it requires a lot of awareness, internal reflection and non-reaction.

The button-pushers will always try to work their Christmas magic but you’re going to have a Santa sack full of antidotes. Below you’ll find zap-it-in-the-butt recipes to counteract disaster:

  1. Reign (deer) It In — if someone is working on your last nerve ask yourself if you really need to react and cause a potential argument.  Can you simply smile and walk away?  See if you can be the still presence and avoid a hot chestnut from slipping down your trousers.  It’s a great test to be non-reactive — can you pour ice over the coals this Christmas?  Sometimes, when I feel overwhelmed by chaotic vibes I go and take 5 in the bathroom — just sit and take 3 long deep breaths and restore your essential energy/chi/sanity/will-to-live. Walking away and creating space or a break in a quarrel can be the very thing neSUBSCRIBE icon 1eded to diffuse it.
  2. Root (beer) Yourself — ground yourself wherever possible.  Take deep breaths and root yourself into the present moment.  When you are quiet, calm and centered, you move into the space of still presence where you can become the observer and this can be a very illuminating place to be (read related article: How to Hold Your Equilibrium). You might even get some clarity on certain behavioral patterns in others which may lead to a better understanding. When we are being seduced to the dark side of arguments it’s better to keep shtum unless you have something incredibly significant to say — otherwise, you will only be adding fuel to the yule logs. Remember that most of what you say — in these heated situations — isn’t being heard because there is too much tumult around and ears tend to close whilst mouths tend to flap.  Being the still observer offers you a way to stay in control of your emotions and gauge what needs to be said, done or to identify if this is your cue to take a stroll around the garden or build a snowman.
  3. Spread Good Cheer(s) — we all love our family and friends, but if you find yourself in a situation where you truly cannot contribute anything but loving them unconditionally, then do just that and send them love. Remain calm and balanced and focus on the love you have for them. Build on that and project it towards them. Remove yourself from the room if needs be and then do it in privacy — even if it means locking yourself in that bathroom again for a few minutes to gather/center yourself. I guarantee you will have helped them more by doing this then by rising to the bait of drama and argumentative behavior.

7 Things Every Teenager Should Know About Life

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.~Douglas Adams

Don’t you sometimes wish you could hijack the DeLorean from ‘Back to the Future’ and go back in time to give the younger you some meaningful and helpful lessons in life (never mind a sharp upper cuff)?

Well, you’re here now — older and wiser with experience under your belt — and the pipeline dream of procuring time machines probably just isn’t going to happen.

The brighter side is that we can enlighten future generations of the deeper meanings behind some really profound truths.

Here’s a list of things I wish I knew when I was a little know-it-all:

1. Thoughts Create Things

7 things teenagers should know PINYes, if only I knew about the Law of Attraction at 16 years of age — all the mischief I could have wrought. Well, maybe it was for the best.  Seriously though, how cool would it have been to know — back then — that your thoughts are prerequisite to actually manifesting whatever you want in your life!?!

2. You Can Do or Be Anything

Yup, some of you may have had hippie parents telling you this but for some of us it just wasn’t the case.  You needed good grades and to get a job that pays well — you know, the 9-5 job and the white picket fence deal?

My parents, God bless them, probably were only handing down what they believed to be precious information that they had learned from their parents. ‘Get a steady job that pays the bills, there is no money to be made in mucking about with paint or playing the guitar’.  Oh, how wrong they were!  The sky is the limit with your dreams — go for it, guns blazing into the setting sun shouting ‘Yeehaw!’.

3. You Always have a Choice

Responsible Choices QuoteLife is all about choices, we make them to get in and out of trouble (scrap trouble — challenges is a better word).  You never set yourself up with anything you can’t get yourself out of — within reason, of course.  So, a message for mini-me would have been:  Try to view things from a different perspective, there is always a solution to a problem if you are quiet enough to hear the inner wisdom that is always inherent.  Life doesn’t just randomly happen to you if you take responsibility for your choices.

4. To Forgive is Divine

If only I had known back then that to hold a grudge means extra baggage for you.  This can even, in some cases, manifest as physical weight. Forgiving, contrary to the saying, doesn’t always mean you forget — if the lesson taught you anything, don’t make yourself vulnerable or open to certain situations again. Always be mindful of your lessons but learn how to forgive and walk away too.

5. Taking Things Personally is Disempowering

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and tastes but there is no ‘blanket’ rule over what is the truth as there are almost 8 billion different perspectives on earth right now.

I was told, in my younger years, not to listen to peoples opinions of me, especially if they caused me any distress. I didn’t truly get that when I am insulted I am actually agreeing with what has been flung on my doorstep.  If only I learned to dodge those landmines sooner, I would have a lot less BS to scrape off my boots later on down the line!

6. Conforming is Boring

SUBSCRIBE icon 1I wish I could seriously implant this into the brains of the youth of today, it’s just that important — especially with the crap that’s being pumped at them through social media!  Don’t try to be who you are not (and please don’t try to mimic a Kardashian).  Everyone wants an original not a copy.  Duh!  Thinking out of the box is not even an option — burn the box!  No more boxes, boxes are for things not ideas or people (just ask Schrodinger’s cat).

7. Being Weird is just so Damn Cool

Well, this one just flows so nicely from being a non-conformist.  It’s just completely stimulating being different.  I mean, come on, look at all those Barbie’s and Ken’s out there — yeah, it’s a nice bit of eye-candy, but really?  For real?

Nah, I prefer someone with a bit more kick, vooma and soul — even if the facial features are slightly askew, hell, isn’t that what makes people intriguing?  Give me a David Bowie or a Thom Yorke any day — talent is my sexiness barometer.

So, little Cherie from the past, this is what I would have loved to have been able to time travel to tell you about.

We have an unnatural amount of data to process than that of the average human being, say just 30 years ago let alone a century back. We have social media and most of us get swept away in superfluous cr@p on our newsfeeds — we see the daily activities of people we don’t even know.

We subscribe to pages that feed us information on celebrities, sports stars, politicians, gurus — you name it!

We have so many faces, characters and perceived personalities to sift through every day that it is no wonder we have become numb to our own perceptions and impressions of people. We have forgotten that we have a superpower — we have inner radar.

WTF Happened to Freedom of Thought and Freedom of Speech!

SUBSCRIBE icon 1I have noticed — with greater severity of late — that people (or sheeple in this case) seem to be following a cut and dry ‘herd’ mentality. A way of thinking that leaves no room for grey area or much-needed debate or alternative perspective.

I get that it’s hard to see — when we’re in the thick of it — that we’re being ushered into thinking left or right (or whatever the case may be).

I have noticed — with growing concern — that people seem to be choosing sides without much thought, reacting out of emotional pain-bodies with little contemplation to evidence, condemning without patience or research of an alternative point of view, having a do or die mentality and completely sh*tting on another persons right to have a competing perception or opinion for him/herself.

If an opinion differs from mainstream it is literally taken down or you are ‘unfriended’ or persecuted or trolled into submission.

Welcome to the United States of Eurasia!

This is not a democratic society we are living in, it’s turning into that insidious Orwellian society we were warned about. I saw something the other day that made me laugh although it’s not really funny: (paraphrasing) “1984 was supposed to be a fictional novel and not a governmental instruction manual”

The media is whipping people into a galvanized frenzy and we need to be extremely careful!

The best thing you can pray for right now is clarity of mind (see my article: ) and the ability to be able to allow someone else a contrary opinion. It’s the ‘my God is the true God and your God sucks’ mentality.

We need to honour the opinions, religions, political views of others and not tell them how they should think. It’s just plain childish to bulldoze someone else to have your line of thinking. It certainly doesn’t get anybody anywhere and only creates greater division (which is a win for the ‘Powers that Were’).

There’s only one rule in the Wiccan tradition and that is ‘do what you want as long as it harms none’. Well that pretty much covers it all, doesn’t it?

If other people don’t abide by this, know that karma is a bitch. All you can do is live in your integrity and help others who may not have the rights or ability to make condoning decisions if need be (as in children, animals, the Earth).

Judging Books by Content Not Covers

I wanted to end this off with saying that we, as a species, have a wonderful ability to sense or ‘read’ energy — it’s that gut instinct (solar plexus). You have a chakra located in your belly area that has an innate intelligence. If you take the time out to actually feel or listen to what it is telling you, you will greatly benefit from the experience.

First impressions are usually accurate because your energy field is picking up on the other energy fields emissions  and doing a quick and smart analysis of intent. When you get an uneasy feeling — it’s a sure sign that although the persons smile, words, resume and actions might be polished (and completely fake), their inherent nature is lacking somehow.

We know that white toothy grins do not the trustworthy politician make, so we need to start looking past peoples faces and words and tune into the frequency they are emitting.

Trust your gut — it’s usually never wrong. It’s a super-power worth developing — you’re going to need it!

I would like to begin this blurb with a statement that the Pleiadians made through one of Barbara Marciniak’s channels to humanity: Be noble because you are of the stars but be humble as you are from the earth (paraphrasing).

Rat Race Illusions

Most of humanity is stuck in the daily grind — feeling small, insignificant, impotent and out-of-control. We’ve forgotten our magnificence. Read related article: The Incredible Power of Humility

SUBSCRIBE icon 1We are a noble, honourable race albeit one with a few… *a-hem*… issues.  Yeah, we may get despondent looking at the headlines or reading the history books but inherently I think we can make it to a class 1 civilization.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed and saddened by the things people do, I remind myself that there is far more good in the world (and good people) than bad. The handful of rotten eggs does not maketh the race.

We, as Carl Sagan so eloquently put it, are made of stars. We have a stellar nobility but we also have a modest earthly existence. This is grand too because it makes you of earth and stars — a proud inheritance. Without ego interference, this is a beautiful thing: to be noble and to be humble. This kind of humble does not mean low-ranking in any way, it simply means to be meek and respectful. Humility is a noble trait. And nobility can be humbling.

We must hold our heads up high and give ourselves more credit. It’s too easy to get swept away in thinking that humanity is a plague when we could be thinking towards the solution — we can be great, we just need to embody it.

Why a 10 Minute Meditation Could Mean Everything

I was at my monthly Power of 8 group and one of the members suggested our intention should be clarity and focus. She said she had seen a meme on some social platform that read (and I paraphrase):

“My mind is like my internet browser, I have 13 tabs open, 3 are frozen and I don’t know where the music is coming from.”

Her intention was perfect as I was feeling like my noodle was a trio of scrambled eggs. I’ve got so much going on at the moment (haven’t we all?) that I could feel my circuits crashing.

SUBSCRIBE icon 1I have a nightly ‘mantra’ that I got from a Barbara Marciniak Pleiadian channel that states: I pray for greater clarity of mind and peace in my heart.

I really love that mantra and it does imply so much. To have a clear mind, focus and peace are attributes most would clamber for. And it can be yours.

During our 10 minute intention — I realized that just repeating this mantra at night before I hopped into bed was not half as powerful as it could be. I really felt into it in the 10 minute group affirmation and promised myself — if I do nothing else — to set aside 10 minutes a day for this specific intention.

We especially seem to need an affirmation of this kind in our current world climate. We are being bombarded with chaos for the mind and fear for the heart, so, what better way to balance this than by truly feeling into the Pleiadian intention?

Got Blocks? This May Be Why…

Let’s talk about blockages — no not the physical kind (although…there is something later on about the physical manifestation). I’m talking about energetic flow kind of blocks — we all hit them at some point.

You’re cruising through life manifesting like a pro and then…voila! You hit a wall. The wall seems insurmountable — there’s no door, window, Easter egg or anything to point you in the direction of getting over this newfound hurdle, in fact the wall just seems to solidify. Your car has derailed and you are left feeling deflated and confused. Where did you go wrong?

I can only speak from personal experience, so here’s my take on it:

I’m going to be talking about hitting a ‘control’ blockage here. There are many speed-bumps on our path to awakening to our true power that pop up but the one I hit most often (and it could be through my anal Virgoic nature) is control. Yip, I’ve got control issues (join the queue).

Control is not a bad thing — it’s a grand discipline in most cases. However, to try and control everything in ones life is a dead-sure way to create a clog in that drain. Nothing blocks the flow of Universal abundant energy than your ego’s need to control every circumstance.

So, here’s my Einstein-esque formula: control=blockage.

SimSUBSCRIBE icon 1ple. But boy, do I have to keep on reminding myself of this.

The moment I try to manipulate and figure out my every move of how I’m going to get from point A to point B, I seize up. And not meaning to be graphic but I’m going to say it anyway…yes, I even have physical blockages. Constipation is a sure sign that you’re rigidly holding onto something.

As the Disney song states, ‘let it go‘. And make sure you’re cupboards are well stocked with toilet tissue.

Your HQ (higher self) knows how to get you what you want if it’s what your soul truly wants, so chill. If it doesn’t happen the way you wanted it to, chill. If it doesn’t happen at all, it wasn’t for you — know that you have potentially dodged a bullet, chill. Hakuna Matata.

How to Cope With the Knowledge of Pure Evil

I write this article with a heavy heart. I felt the urge to acknowledge this in the only way I know how — to write about it.

I was a person who preferred not to see the evil in the world. After all, I consider myself an enlightened new-ager who needs to superglue those rose-coloured glasses to her face. I still inherently do believe in positive energy/vibes and my path is that of sticking to the light and my integrity.

The truth (my truth) about this is I simply can’t not acknowledge the dark side exists. There has to be a dark side for there to be contrast. It’s a fundamental principle in our current duality reality (yip, noetic and poetic).

Why Is There Dark?

If you can stomach it, I read a series of articles relating to the concept of Luciferianism and I recommend you have a read with an open mind — it helped me get a broader understanding of what we are dealing with: Who Lucifer Actually Is & Why They Are Here (Part 1)

After reading the content above, I had a great sense of sorrow, empathy and compassion (actually, no words can describe the feeling) for all those who have suffered and lost their lives to the perpetrators of such heinous crimes. However, I also had a sense of empowerment — now I feel I have a better understanding adn I feel it easier to cope with moving forward.

We really can’t deny the dark any longer. Look at the news. I need not remind you of the #metoo movement, continuous warring, paedophilia rings emerging in the political and ‘celebrity’/Hollywood arena and the recent spate of sexual abuse cases hidden by the Roman Catholic Church.

And there’s a lot more to come, people, so fasten your seat-belts! It’s all coming to the surface and we need to be emotionally prepared so we can face it head on. If you can’t deal with it, you can’t move through it to the other side.

Respect

To all those who survived such abuse, I would like to acknowledge your suffering and my heart goes out to you — living or deceased.

What grates me is that so many people are still burying their heads in disbelief that these things can happen and don’t seem to understand the pain they are inflicting by their indifference on the victims of such crimes.

It’s time to stop sweeping things under the rug because we can’t handle them. We need to be brave and courageous, we need to LOOK at what has happened for a healing to take place.

It is our duty as human beings to listen to and acknowledge the suffering and pain of our brothers and sisters all over the globe who have experienced horrors at the hands of those in power.

It is just plain disrespectful to not acknowledge their stories.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the whistle-blowers, truth-seekers, courageous journalists and all those exceptionally brave men and women who risk their lives (and many have died in the process!) to bring us the truth. So much love and gratitude to you.

God bless us all in these tumultuous times.

I read a quote the other day, it went something like this:

“Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear you path”

There is so much truth in that if only we could have the clarity of thought to see it that way when we’re in the eye of the storm.

Life’s Little Reminders

Things, in hindsight, always become clearer. It’s that one day that you suddenly wake up to realize that if that (fill in the blank) didn’t happen, you’d be stuck (fill in the blank).

And if these ‘storms’ don’t come to blast a clear passage, you can get awfully stuck in your comfort zone and never push yourself beyond to where your soul longs to be. Read related article: Comfort Zones: The Beauty of Awkward and Uncomfortable

Life’s trials will never cease to be there, it’s your perspective and how you choose to see and handle it that must change in order for you to be genuinely happy.

Subscribe buttonIf you can — when things seem really bad —  see it with new eyes, perhaps you can let go of the situation/person more readily. If you can face life’s obstacles with a knowing that anything that comes into your life to disrupt is there for a reason and, in my experience, that reason is always growth and a situation that leads to something even better.

I have, in many circumstances where I would have normally thrown my toys way out of my cot, applied this concept of future projecting a positive outcome (just remember that the antithesis — worry — is future projecting a negative outcome) with absolute success. I know I’m the only one who can make me happy.

In the middle of a hurricane, know that you have every ability to turn it around into something you can learn and grow from.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Stress is one of the biggest killers of our time. The worst part is, it’s so unnecessary.

We think we don’t have enough hours in the day, we con ourselves into thinking that we need to do, do, do and — when the day is done — we worry about what tomorrow may bring.

Any alien looking down on our world would think we’re loopier than a slinky — one nut short of a complete fruit cake.

Life Experience of the Old and Crusty

I would like to think, now at the ripe old age of 43, that I have a bit of life experience under my belt. I was a chaser, a go-getter, a ‘seeker’ — now that I’m older and, I’d like to think, wiser — I’m a go-slower.

If we are to take it from the mouth of Viggo Mortensen — true success is to go slow to go fast (and let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to take it slow and steady with Viggo?).

The Advantages of Life in the Slow Lane

Taking life a little easier helps us to:

  1. see with greater clarity of mind (so much better for making life’s important decisions)
  2. to stop and smell those proverbial roses (and they are so sweet smelling in the springtime) — it’s our excuse to be like Ferdinand (watch video below if you don’t know this bullish yet delightful tale)Subscribe button
  3. connect with ourselves in ways we almost never allow ourselves to (as in taking long, hot baths, strolls in the countryside, watering the garden or just staring at a wall for a couple of hours)
  4. connect with others in more meaningful, whole ways (how many of us are guilty of not listening properly or having our minds wander when we should be focused on others?)
  5. savour the passion of what we love to do no matter what that is
  6. engage in true inner peace.

Slow down, life is too short to get yourself all twisted in a knot. Say no if you’d rather not. Put your sanity first before clogging up that diary. Learn how to decline gracefully and start human being instead of human doing.

When Life Gives You Lemons…

I would like to give you a recipe for the best darn lemonade ever — it’s about community, asking, giving and thriving.

4 years ago I moved to a remote little village in the klein Karoo, South Africa. I soon learnt that there was a really great switched on bunch of people staying here (with exception to the local loons, drama queens and negative nellies — if you’ve ever had a taste of remote country living, you’ll know what I mean).

I soon felt very at home in this quaint little outback town.

Recently I started my very own ‘Power of 8’ meditation group — the original concept brought to us by Lynne McTaggart (read more here:Are You Ready For Peace? Join Lynne McTaggart For the Largest Group Intention in the History of Mankind!).

We meet once a month and each member gets a turn to set an intention (which could be to lower the crime in the village, sending healing energy to abundance for all — the sky is the limit and we’ve been fairly successful!).

Our meetings bring much joy to us all and we have a safe place to discuss things that are a little ‘off the wall’. There is a sense of trust and sisterhood/brotherhood.

Yes Cherie, but what about the lemonade?

The Secret Ingredient

After one of these meetings, I decided to pour myself a glass of lemon water.

I suddenly realized I had forgotten to get lemon juice from the store. I decided to put out a distress call to my neighbourhood whatsapp group (btw — I strongly suggest you create a neighbourhood whatsapp group, it’s really useful as long as you keep it light and friendly) asking if anyone perhaps had a lemon tree and lemons to sell me — cause, frankly, why not?

SUBSCRIBE icon 1Within an hour I had a BIG bag of the juiciest, organic lemons from my neighbour a couple of houses up. She wouldn’t even hear of accepting payment for them. It was a good thing I had just celebrated my birthday and had brought her a couple of pieces of chocolate cake to compensate for such anticipated generosity!

She reminded me that I gave her apricots last season from my overburdened tree to which I replied that she was always more than welcome every season to come and fill a box.

She said I was welcome to her lemons any time.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside as I’m writing this ’cause this is just the life, isn’t it — straight out of a Waltons episode!

Living the Dream

It’s what I’ve always wanted — a sense of true community. It overwhelms me how generous and delightful people can be in a world where everything seems to be collapsing in chaos and tumult, we can actually take back control by looking out for each other.

We have the power to create community wherever we are.

The ingredient to making the best lemonade on the planet is to reach out to people on your doorstep. The only positive change we can be sure of creating is the way we live, communicate with and help each other out from the small things to the larger things — to respect each others differences and to look out for each other.

If everyone can do this and create peace neighbourhood by neighbourhood — we most certainly will have the ability to thrive.

How to Play the Game

Let me play devils advocate and say that we’re in a matrix or holographic universe. You can liken this to being in a computer game.

If you’ve ever engaged in a computer game, you know that you’re playing a game.

The only problem with our collective perceived reality is that we’ve forgotten we’re in the ‘game’.

When you’re immersed in a computer game, you’re physical body is the ‘player’ and can be likened to the higher mind (or HQ). Your avatar body (the dude/dudette in the game) is like your physical body in the matrix taking commands from the ‘player’ of the game (or HQ in the spirit realm).

Your physical body in the game conceives of your moves ‘cause it has the ‘birds eye view’. Your avatar body within the game responds to the prompts from the physical body.

I think our HQ — in so called ‘reality’ — can see what’s ahead as it sits on the mountain (or in the etheric plane) and views the quickest route to any destination.

sub buttonWe, in the physical plane, only get to see what’s dead ahead  or in our peripherals and therefore can’t conceive (the job of HQ) of how we will get somewhere.

When the HQ sends down its ‘command’, we receive the prompt and take action through perceiving and playing the game.

We need quiet time — or meditation/nature time — because this is when the higher self can communicate the plan to you.

Volunteer or Victim?

I think we volunteered to play this game of life. Through forgetting we are the players immersed in this virtual reality, we became ‘victims’.

There’s a BBC cult classic comedy called ‘Red Dwarf’ that I absolutely love. There are many didactic and philosophical moments to this series.

One of the best episodes was when they were playing a game called ‘Better Than Life’. They were wired up to the console and the computer read their deepest desires and then produced their realities from that.

Out of the four characters playing the game, one had his subconscious mind sabotage his happiness at every point. He could be likened to the majority of humanity. He believed deep down that he didn’t deserve ‘good things’ so his psyche would initially give him what he wanted but then would take it away in the most heinous and gruesomely inventive ways.

The game played out his every horror while the others were in their own personal heavens.

In conclusion, don’t you think it’s time to stop letting the game play you? Instead, you need to start playing the game!

Don’t Let Control Issues Ruin Your Life

If you hold onto how things have to happen you are being manipulated by the ‘negative’ aspect of the ego.

The ego has its place in your life. It is responsible for making your experience — in the physical plane — real. However, when the ego thinks it can control how your life pans out — you’re about to be steered to rocky waters.

Your ego is essentially rudderless and clueless.

Controlling your circumstances will always lead you straight into a brick wall.

‘You’re Blocking Me, Again’

I am an expert at control issues. It’s been the predominant program running in my life. Just when I think I’ve shut the program down for good, it pops up in some cunning new disguise to fool me into thinking I’m ‘in the flow, dude’ when it actually has a hidden agenda of control and manipulation.

SUBSCRIBE icon 1I recently recognized that my ego was in control again in a completely different arena of my life — it had completely blind-sided me. When I saw it for what it was and what was playing out in my life as an effect, it was face-palm time.

My control issues had flared up in a silent, transparent blaze.

I was running on autopilot (the subconscious programming — read more about that HERE). It had me jumping through hoops and trying to manipulate my circumstances instead of just being.

It’s the part of you that wants you to continuously do and not simply be.

Human Doing vs Human Being

I was stuck in the loop of controlling my life through doing more. Maybe you can relate?

When you’re aware that you are the creator of your reality and you step into the role of conceiving an idea (which is sent from HQ or the higher mind and never the ‘ego’ mind), taking action to set the idea into motion and then exercising patience and trust that the universe is working on the quickest plan, you’re truly in ‘the flow’.

The negative controlling ego is that part that insists that you should do more to make it happen. It may take the form of more marketing, more pushing, more action, more visualizations of how something must take place, etc.

Swimming Upstream

What I’ve learned is that you take inspired action and no more (well, unless you are inspired to take another step). Follow the synchronicity (those bread crumbs the universe lays out for you). That’s inspired action.

Uninspired egoic action is pushing and trying to manipulate your circumstance that feels unnatural, tough or ‘hard’. That’s when you are most likely to hit a wall. Don’t hate the wall, just recognize it as a sign from HQ saying, ‘You’re not in the flow, cupcake. Relax and be patient’.

High vibes attract high vibe connections (read more about that HERE). Let go of your incessant control over things and let the universe guide you to your highest excitement or your next inspired step.

In last week’s article, I wrote about asking for something only once when you are manifesting your reality — you can recap HERE.

Today I’d like to dive into the murky waters of the subconscious and bring to the surface the programs we run in the recesses of our psyche.

Are You on Autopilot?

Dr Bruce Lipton says that our subconscious runs 95% of the time, allowing our conscious mind to run at around 5%. What’s the problem here?

The challenge with this situation is that although our subconscious is a great existential tool as it is responsible for downloading certain repetitive programs like driving, working, washing, walking, riding — you get the picture — it also picks up negative beliefs and programming that doesn’t always align with what we want to experience.

Those whacked out programs like, ‘I don’t deserve this’, ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’, ‘I’m useless’, ‘I’m unlovable’ or ‘I’m the sole bearer of the only truth and this is the way it is’ — you can fill in the rest.

It is responsible for assimilating the behaviours and beliefs of those we were surrounded by from age 0 until about 7 (when we start putting the program together and start testing out our own personality).

This means that you take on the beliefs and conducts of parents, teachers, siblings and other role models (or even acquaintances you were exposed to) — the good, the bad and the chillingly ugly.

The 5% of the conscious mind is where you’ll find your dream, goals, desires centre. It’s the part that gets lost in a thought when you’re driving to the supermarket and the next thing you’ve parked your car and couldn’t remember even manoeuvring into the parking lot (that’s because the subconscious program took over the driver’s seat and got you there while the conscious mind played with an idea).

Downloading a New App and Clearing Those Cookies!

Here’s the tricky bit: It’s up to you to weed out the bad programs and beliefs by becoming aware of them.

When you can become aware of the beliefs that don’t serve you or the life you want to lead, you can start to change the way your subconscious works.

The subconscious works on autopilot and can sabotage the conscious desires in the blink of an eye. Why? Because it runs 95% of the time and the conscious only 5%.

So, in context, if you want to manifest a new car and you’ve done everything that the Law of Attraction experts have told you to do, and you feel like you’ve affirmed your butt off but you’re only manifesting more car problems — your subconscious programming actually has the joystick (or in this case, misery-stick).

Don’t fret! It’s actually a good sign that your bull-sh*t programs are coming up for a cache clearing.

How Do I Clean Up My Disk?

Firstly, being aware that your disk (subconscious) needs clearing is a huge plus — congratulations! Then you can get to work.

This is where the ‘fake it to make it’ adage comes in handy.

Repetition is what got you there in the first place, so now you can start building a new program even if it feels foreign at first. Affirm the new program when you wake up in the morning and just as you dose off at night.

Keep yourself in check if the old program rears its head. You can even go for hypnosis if that feels right for you.

During a daily ‘quickie’ meditation me and my hubby do, Mike turns to me and asks, ‘Why do we keep on asking for the same thing — surely that shows you don’t trust the process?

I tried to defend the situation by saying that repetition and affirmation anchor a desire. Then I thought about what my wise partner had said. He was, of course, right.

Esther Hicks (who channels ‘Abraham’) even said that when you ask it is always given — a cache exists in the ether of things waiting to match your vibration so you can claim them.

We have now changed how we do things and ask only once and then, in our daily meditation, give thanks for having it and feel into that timeline.

What does that mean though?

It simply means that you only need to ask once and it is given. It is then your job to raise your vibration and sort out those limiting beliefs that keep you from your desire so that you can meet that dream/goal.

That sounds like a right trough of gobbledygook, doesn’t it? We hear about limiting beliefs and raising your vibration but how exactly do you do that?

The Easiest Solution to Life and the Universe

You, in the revolutionary words of Bashar, follow your highest excitement — which means that you live every second of every day in joy and following a path of least resistance to what is. Read related articleMaking Peace With the Chaos in Your Life

Ergo, if you need to go to the toilet — enjoy that experience. Be grateful for the toilet and the toilet tissue that you can gently caress your derriere with afterwards. If you feel you need to take a nap — do so with gratitude for your nice, warm bed and relish in the peace that comes with sleep. If you need to make a sandwich — make the best sarnie you can and give thanks for the food in your pantry.

Gratitude is a fierce force for raising your vibration. Following your passion and joy boosts your happiness levels. Do both and you’ll be whiz-banging all the way.

What about the moments that aren’t so pleasant? Say for instance: Paying the bills, going to work, cleaning the soap scum in the shower type-stuff?

Why do you believe that these things can be anything but pleasant?

  • If you can pay your bills then you are lucky! Give gratitude for the money you have and the service you are paying for. If you don’t have money, trust that everything will come to you as it should —not a moment too soon or too late. I’ve been doing this lately and it works a treat. At first, it’s harrowing but as you see the fluidity of how the universe works, you’ll start to Trust more.
  • If you don’t like your job, put out an intention to work somewhere more pleasant and then do your job to the best of SUBSCRIBE icon 1your ability — see if you can pick out the positive traits in the work you do. It might be a pleasant colleague or a great coffee machine. Start small and build it up even if the only positive thing you can glean is that you get paid for your services — then be grateful for that.
  • Make cleaning a game, put on some music and scrub to the beat. Be grateful that you have a shower. There are people out there who have to wash from a bucket.

These small things like giving thanks for food and having a warm bed, etc are stepping stones to raising your vibration.

Bursting at the Seams

I recently had my hot water cylinder burst. Instead of having a hab-dab about it — I got on with boiling a kettle and doing the necessaries to carry on with my life (washing the bod and doing the dishes sort-of-thing).

The plumbers could only come out on the Monday and I had the weekend to look forward to with my new kettle-heating regime.

I actually had fun with it. I became outrageously grateful for having a kettle and running water. Even more gratitude flowed at the thought of a new, swanky hot water cylinder that was soon to be mine!

Give Yourself a Reason to be Happy

SUBSCRIBE icon 1I also like the adage that things happen for a reason. When the plumbers left, they told us that they had to replace the pipes as they were not up to standard and would have created further problems.

I now have a new and working hot water system and it looks like we dodged a bullet that could’ve been an even bigger headache. I’m as pleased as punch.

No-one likes inconvenience but how about transforming even irritants into solutions and something to be happy about? Remember: You Can Alchemize Anything!

I’ve been coming up against a very oppressive type of ‘authoritarian’ energy lately.  I am also seeing my friends and family going through similar experiences, so, perhaps you’ve been feeling it too?

Authority normally scares the crap out of me but I’m going to let you in on how I’ve been dealing with it this week (and quite effectively I might add). But first, allow me my rant…

The End of the Webbed Romance? 

There’s a lot of bullying going on.  I’ve been hearing about Facebook taking down business pages left, right and center with no warning or notice — I really feel for the people left in this wake with no explanation but an automated response and no way to effectively contact the ‘untouchable hotshots’.

I hear that YouTube is also exercising their right to do as they please and people are losing income streams thick and fast.

My Yahoo mail account wants me to consent to having them poke around/share all my private info or my account gets taken away. What’s next — micro-chipping wrists or you can’t access your bank account? How very 666 of you, darling!

Cheers! Thanks y’all, it’s been real (ummm…cyber-real which isn’t very real at all now, is it?).

And All Pinocchio Wanted to Be Was a Real Boy

We did without these social platforms for most of our lives (barring the millennials) and we got on great.

The way I see it is that all these big social media sites and companies are helping us to let go and go do real things in the real world like the real people we are.

They may not know it but all the BS, all the privacy violations, all the unacceptable terms and agreements may actually be steering us back to our humanity — or at least allowing for a pause so we can come up for air and take a look around. Who knows, maybe some of us won’t bury our heads so easily anymore.

Technology is fun but too much of it can suck the life out of us and rob us of quality moments. I promise you there was life pre-internet and there will be life post-internet.

Rainbows, Lights, Tunnels and Cotton Candy

As my paranoid, suspicious mind flourished in light of all the injustice, I remembered:

Life is meaningless until you assign it meaning (either neutral, positive or negative).

I decided to alchemize it and set forth to visualize my preferred outcome. Read related article: Why ‘The Echo’ is Important on Your Evolutionary Path

Here’s my advice if you feel a little snowed under with negative, oppressive energy:

  • Focus your intent on how you want to see something happen instead of worrying about how it may negatively transpire.
  • Take action where you can.
  • Wake up every morning stating how fricking fantastic this day is going to be and how everything is going to go just right.
  • sub buttonWhen you feel overwhelmed remember the 2 magic statements: ‘This too shall pass’ and ‘All is well’.
  • Keep your cool. Try meditating. Balance is essential in steering a positive attitude and emitting a high-oscillating frequency.
  • You’re never given anything you can’t handle. You’re really quite powerful.
  • Nothing can touch you — you are a God-sovereign being. There is no death and you are eternal. What’s the problem?
  • Nothing is quite as bad as it seems. Have a cry, rant or steam over a challenge if you must but remember to look for the good.

Whatever is happening can be alchemized — alchemy is turning base metal into gold and you can turn any situation into gold when you mine it right.

When I looked at my circumstance from a different perspective I realized that all was indeed well.  I couldn’t be happier.  I’m going to be like Fernando and sit under a tree smelling the daisies and enjoying this beautiful playground of a planet.

The Art of Not Thinking

Simple Complexity — The Dichotomous Nature of Our Reality

I’ve just finished the painting I used in the header picture above (you can click on it to see the whole image). It’s a new style I’m dappling in.

When I stepped back from the painting — after I had downed my brush — the first thing that smacked me was the complexity of the background.

When I do my backgrounds it’s just mindless doodling, so, it takes me a while (and some physical distance) to actually ‘see’ what I’ve created. In this case, I knew immediately what this represented.

You are looking at the physical representation of what’s going on in my head…lol. This is what my binary code looks like all fleshed out.

To Think or Not to Think

Thinking can also be both exquisite and terrifying simultaneously.

‘Thoughts create things’ and there is so much man-made beauty in the world — there is also much insidious creation. Then there is also the fact that overthinking everything can lead to anxiety, stress and dis-ease.

I read somewhere that the more in the NOW you are, the less you age. You become, essentially, timeless (if you haven’t read any of Eckhart Tolle’s books yet on present moment awareness, I suggest you get cracking!).

There is nothing that ages us more than thinking too much. This can also be translated as worry.

To worry is to future project a negative outcome, did you know that?

Pearls of Wisdom

SUBSCRIBE icon 1A friend of mine told me the other day that she devotes time every day to thinking and then, after the allocated time, she tries to just be thoughtless (as in being present with what she’s doing and not being a frivolous fool).

I breathed a sigh of relief as I am very guilty of staring at my wall, sometimes for an hour before I ‘catch’ myself!

I’ve come to realize that it is perfectly okay to zone out in this way. After all, that’s what meditation is. Read related article: 5 Easy Steps to Meditating (No Lotus Position Required)

Meditation is just the ability to stop the monkey mind from swinging about the jelly-brain jungle. Read related article: How to Stop Monkey Mind Manifesting

In Conclusion…

Thinking is clearly essential to our existence and creative expansion but the art of not thinking can prolong our corporeal sojourn. I want you to not think about that (only joking).

Go stare at a wall (or a flower, or the cloudy sky, or the stars 😉 ).

Keeping the Dream Alive

Hitting a Hurdle

I was recently flying high with my manifestations and was literally seeing things I wanted present themselves to me in the most magnificent, unexpected and darn-right scary ways.

Then suddenly…nothing. What happened? I started getting a little antsy — why had I hit a roadblock?

I sat with this question for over a week and then remembered to take my own advice (read related article: How to Redesign Your-cell-f) and asked ‘HQ’ (or my higher self) for an answer.

2 Small Things That Can Lead to Blocked Abundance

The answers that came through were twofold:

  1. Reassess what you want. This was a really interesting aspect that I had overlooked in my angst. I had asked to earn a ‘surplus’ over and above my regular income but felt like I’d hit a wall. The weird thing was that I was earning a surplus but it seemed to be on an ‘easy come easy go’ loop. So, it felt like I was still kind of scraping the barrel towards the end of the month. I looked back on my affirmation (I keep notes of this sort of thing on my smartphone for handy and easy access) and slapped my forehead. Bingo! I had asked to make surplus but not HOW MUCH surplus. I quickly altered that to suit my current needs. The lesson for me here was to keep assessing (maybe every week/month/whatever feels right) what I wanted. I had hit a plateau and was getting a little frustrated but when I saw that I had indeed manifested exactly what I said I wanted, it made me fine-tune that intent. Keep on tweaking!
  2. Keep focused. The other aspect was that I had sent out so many desires into the ether that I wasn’t really focused on any one of them. This happens so easily when you get swept up with life. Most of us lead pretty full lives and when that happens we start to get side-tracked by little everyday occurrences. Next thing you know and you’ve totally forgotten what it is you said you wanted! This is where that smartphone note app comes in handy. Keep on logging your epiphanies, affirmations, a-ha moments (no, not that photo of you getting your autograph book signed by Morten Harket — although that’s pretty cool), dreams and desires and you can whip out your phone any time to check in on what was important to you last week.

SUBSCRIBE icon 1I decided that the best way to keep track of this was to set aside 10-12 minutes every morning over a cuppa to do a meditation/visualization/affirmation.

I allot 3 minutes to each of my desires.

My hubby does it with me cause we’re kind of tied in with the same wants and dreams. On our day 3 (and just about 10 minutes after we’d done a specific affirmation), one of those affirmations was realized.

We, as human beings, sometimes wander off into the sunset of life and busy-ness and forget to tune into these small things that make a big difference.

My advice is to check in with yourself — perhaps every Saturday morning over your first coffee — to see if there is any desire you may have that needs updating, and to assign just 10 minutes a day to giving some energy to those dreams in the pipeline.

Why ‘The Echo’ is Important on Your Evolutionary Path

Trusting the Echo Process

So you’ve taken the initiative to change the course of your life to something that pleases you more. You’ve recognized that you are the co-creator of your experience and you’ve set your sails to bring you more of what you desire.

Suddenly you are confronted with more of what you don’t want.

Why?

Understanding the Echo Effect

It’s known as an echo. The Universe, in its weird and mysterious way, puts these ‘echo’s’ before us to get us to confront our change and see if it is what we want and if we are vibrationally aligned to said change.

What this means is that if you’ve been manifesting car problems and your new desire is to have a car that runs smoothly. You may get a flat tyre or a blown gasket. This is a kind of frequency test.

What is Your Reaction?

What’s actually happening is a test on how you REACT to this. If you truly are on a new path where your car is working great — your vibration will be light when one of these echo’s comes a-calling.

If you have changed and are on the track of vibrant va-va-voom vehicle vibrations, then you can just shrug off this echo and say to the Universe, ‘this is okay ’cause I know what I want and what I want is a working car. All is well’. Your vibration will be matched and you have passed the test.

If you lose your marbles and start kicking the car and saying, ‘why does this always happen to me?’ — you clearly have not changed your vibration to what you want.

Facing the Echo — Design or Default?

It feels like a dichotomous situation to get a repeat of the energy of the past but it is a vital factor in YOU realizing that you have not (or have) actually changed the way you think and feel.

You can either design the future (I want a working car) or go to the factory default (my car always fails me). The echo is a way to test your vibration to see if you are on a new timeline.

SUBSCRIBE icon 1It’s actually a great thing to get an echo because it means that your desire is being processed and you are in the throes of the final tweak.

Don’t get caught up in the echo and feel like you’re going backwards — shout into that echo with a ‘thank you! I’ve totally got this and trust with a capital T’.

If you can face adversity and be calm and content about it, you have just stepped over the threshold of manifesting what you desire. The echo test is your gauge.

Trust in the process and don’t let those echo’s pull you back into the reality you want to step away from.

Feeling Into a Better Reality

Most people know by now (including scientists) that there are an infinite amount of parallel universes out there (or in here — it depends on your point of view).

“If you’re trying to change the world you are in now, you can’t. You must change YOU and then you will automatically attract the preferred version of Earth that matches your frequency.”

Okay, so what does that really mean?

Let’s take North and South Korea. Wasn’t it just the shiznit to see those two leaders hugging and planting trees in each other’s country? Not to mention the disarming of nuclear weapons — that was the cherry on top! Read more HERE.

When I saw that I thought to myself, ‘hey girl, you’ve just slipped into a better version of Earth’. No doubt that there is a version out there that is in the throes of WW3 (what looked probable just 2 weeks ago!).

How Is This Possible?

The fear mongering isn’t quite so effective any more, is it? The majority of the populace can see through the galvanizing of ‘opposing’ sides. Most of us don’t have a plummeting of energy (or slipping into fear) when we read all the supposed ‘true’ fake news like (insert mainstream media here). Could this be the reason why we’re seeing peace instead of war?

I like to think so.

I, personally, only felt a sense of well-being when I was hearing all the malarkey a few weeks ago. It would have normally upset me, but not any more. The media can take their fear peddling and shove it up their — to quote the expressive Irish — fecking arse.

Where To Now?

When you take charge of feeling good — aka raising your vibration and keeping a balanced state of joy — you are immediately aligning with a better reality. Even if you don’t quite know what you want yet, to wake up and state that ‘today is going to be a glorious day‘ will set you on a path of experiencing happiness (even if it’s the hot shower you just had).

Remember to have gratitude for the big and small things you experience (a great cup of coffee, a unbelievable job offer, etc). When you do this many times a day, you are raising your vibration.

When you wake up and decide that you are miserable and dreading the day, you plot a course for disaster. All it takes is a tweak in what you’re telling yourself. If something undesirable does happen just tell yourself, ‘I’ve got th

is! All is actually very well in my world‘. Keep faking it to make it if you must. Soon what you’re telling yourself won’t be fake, it’ll be the only truth.

Joy is your purpose.

If you’re cleaning the toilet, sing your favorite song; if you’re taking out the trash, do a little dance; if you’re stuck in traffic, take some time to reflect on all the great things in your life (melt into gratitude instead of road rage); if you’re fixed in a funk, remember that just to be the proud owner of a body is something to celebrate; if you’re cooking a meal, infuse it with love and gratitude; if you’re taking a nap, enjoy how it feels to lie in comfort and just dose off.

There is an abundance of joy in our every day experiences that we just don’t perceive as such — put on those rose-colored glasses and start dimension hopping!

Your Focus is Your Life

If you’re not expecting great things to happen to you each and every day, you’re probably not going to be disappointed — you’ll be creating the mundane. You’re a powerful creator either way.

Remember that movie ‘Groundhog Day’? The main character repeated the same day over and over and over again…until he started injecting his day with some much-needed action and rewired the way he interacted with the events and people in his life.

This touches on what I want to offer in today’s article: How to turn things around by getting excited about every single day you wake up breathing!

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,’ said Piglet at last, ‘what’s the first thing you say to yourself?’

‘What’s for breakfast?’ said Pooh, ‘What do you say, Piglet?’

‘I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting to-day?’ said Piglet.

Let’s take a look at sharing the optimism of Pooh and Piglet.

Manifestation Flows Where Attention Goes

I’ve been pulling a Piglet for quite some time now — the moment I open my eyes I say ‘today is going to be a wonderful day, full of pleasant surprises if not miracles!’ Read related article: 6 Impossible Things To Do Every Day

I’m very rarely disappointed.

It’s really quite that simple. Set your intention for the day. You can even get specific if you are doing something and you want to see that something go splendidly well. Visualize how you want your day to go, or, if you don’t feel like getting into the semantics — just set that intention to have a fabuscrumptious day.

Your only job is to feel into that vibration of excitement or joy or whatever you want to experience. You’ve got to pay close attention to all the little good things as well as the big good things that transpire.

What I do every night (when I’m back in bed) is a quick review of all the nice things that happened during the course of the day. I’ll tell you something — you’ll be surprised how much great stuff happens in a day!

From Large to Not So Very Large

The key things to remember when you take charge of your optimism are:

  1. Follow your excitement. Like Pooh, get excited about your breakfast or taking a nice hot shower. Appreciate ALL the things in your life. If you feel like taking a nap and have the opportunity to follow that little bit of excitement — then nap with gusto! Passion is all about doing what feels good in the moment. It’s not only about your career or your hobbies. It’s about what you wear when you get dressed in the morning, it’s about the wonderful interactions you have with other people during your day (see how many smiles you can get out of people!), it’s about getting excited about your next cup of coffee or what you’re planning to create for a nutritious and delicious supper.   2. Acknowledge Everything. Give gratitude constantly for the small and large things in your life. It could be that awesome breakfast you just ate, the birds singing sweetly outside your office window or your dream car that you bought 2 years ago. When you think about it, you’ll realize that you always have something to be grateful for — even the body you occupy is a huge blessing so sorely overlooked as such.
  3. Understand Your Frequency. When you (1) expect good things to happen, (2) you’re wide awake to see them manifest and (3) you’re grateful when they pop up — you are automatically raising your vibration which will, in turn, cause more juicy things to happen to get you more excited to raise your vibration even further. Snowball effect type thing. If you slump (and you may — it’s a human-being-on-planet-earth-type-thing!), just remember to acknowledge the space you’re in and to know that it will pass and that, effectively, ‘all is well’. I say that a LOT when I’m not feeling all high and googly. It’s very grounding — take a deep breath and say ‘all is well in my world’. Don’t underestimate the power of a long, deep breath. It can really center and balance you if you’re feeling overwhelmed or when you start to feel doubt, fear or panic set in.

There is a saying that is a wee bit topsy-turvy — ‘seeing is believing‘. I’m afraid that, in my experience, this is upside down and all wonky-doo-dah. It should be ‘believing is seeing’.

When you wake up (literally and figuratively) and decide to opt in for excitement, life will show you things to get excited about. It’s just not going to work in reverse. You’ll sit and wait a lifetime if you think that life will give you what you want so you can be happy. You’ve got to be happy (and it’s your job to determine how you get into that state) and then life will reciprocate.

I wrote in a previous article that I had stumbled across a truth that turned my world upside down Alice style.

It was the mere statement that life is meaningless. It seems quite an abrasive statement, doesn’t it? It’s really not. It just means that life has no meaning until one is assigned. In other words, you give it either a positive or negative attribute (or leave it where it was — parked in neutral).

I thought this was quite profound and immediately started applying it to my life. Since then, it has become more incredible as I use it in pretty much every aspect of my life — from traffic jams to existential crises.

Bearing in mind that the universe is impartial (it is neither for you nor against you, it just is) and you and you’re epic consciousness give life it’s meaning — are you going to be brave and truly apply your choices with gusto?

Brave Jedi or Seduction to the Dark Side?

When you face a block — are you going to see it as something that isn’t part of your life, something that doesn’t belong there? Or, are you going to acknowledge that some things are put in your way to deter you from danger that you may never be able to prove; or possibly see it as a rerouting to a better version of your reality?

It takes a lot of courage to start seeing things from a different perspective. When you do, it’ll open up doors that you thought were beyond your power to open.

If you decide that this is all rubbish and you’ve no control over something negative, then good luck to you with that choice. Because, yes, it is a choice to view something as either negative, neutral (its actual state) or positive.

Follow the White Rabbit

As I was contemplating writing about this today, I saw a short video on my facebook feed — synchronicity shining through for me as it always does! It was a bride getting ditched on her wedding day. The moral of the video was all about being guided to a better life even if it doesn’t feel like that way in the moment (you could be feeling utterly devastated, completely hopeless or even suicidal).

If you give yourself time to ‘mourn’ and get over something with a view that it may have happened for a good reason and for your own personal growth, then you have won the challenge. This in turn raises your vibration so that you match the frequency of living life with curiosity, joy and awe — expecting miracles to happen even though you don’t know how they’re going to transpire (and, remember, it’s not your job to know how — leave it to the all-seeing higher self. HOWEVER, if you fail to see it as such, YOU could predetermine it to be an ongoing negative scenario. If living in negativity is not in alignment with how you want to feel, you can turn it around…

Let me give you an example:

I was having a conversation with a dear friend of mine and she was telling me about her divorce. She said that it was devastating at the time but she lived through it and was actually more empowered by it than she could have ever dreamed possible.

Even though, after her separation, she said she experienced many of her deepest fears materialize through her feelings of disempowerment and ‘victimhood’ — she admitted that she let the negativity run riot — she was guided to a Louise Hay book that completely transformed her thinking and her life.

8 years down the line, she got a visit from her ex-mother-in-law. She heard that her ex-husband had not changed his ways one iota and is on a downward spiral. She said it was in that moment that she truly felt blessed to have escaped what would have been a tough, if not loveless, marriage.

She is now on her path and is experiencing amazing synchronicities and magic because she chooses to see everything that plays out as perfect for her chosen journey. She understands that her perspective is what is giving her life meaning and she chooses to be H-A-P-P-Y. No matter what.

Be Like Girl

Be like my friend and CHOOSE how to feel. If you say you can’t, then you’ll become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Kick Nostradamus to the curb and grab your inner Nicholas Flamel (alchemize it, baby!). You affect your reality by what you think, feel and how you take action.

You CAN choose to see the diamond in the rough, the treasure in the trash, the needle in the haystack (oh, please make the idioms stop!) and therefore propel yourself into a higher vibration. When you are in a higher vibration, you automatically attract more things to be high on.

Play the Game

I decided the other day to experiment with how I was feeling.

I had the equivalent of $10 to my name for the next 10 days and was feeling lack. So, I played the abundance game. I decided that $10 was a lot of money and that I was going to attract everything I needed. I was overwhelmed in the next 4 days with gifts of every shape and variety.

sub buttonI was gifted with a beautiful little painting, a bottle of red wine, some yummy dark Lindt chocolate, biscuits, home-made jam, essential oils, cake, fruit and vegetables. My cupboards were bursting and I hadn’t even touched my $10!

Open yourself to receive without knowing who or where it’s going to come from. Just sit back and trust that your frequency is going to tune into some good shit (and you can quote me on that!).

Follow your joy, bliss, creativity in every moment and when you hit that ‘stop’ sign, make sure it is not in fact just a signpost to some outlandish adventure.

Why Not Imprint How You Want to Die?

What a strange subject, eh?

Well, I think it’s one worth delving into. We set intentions all day long, shooting out those ‘rockets of desire’ — so, why not imprint on this matrix or world of maya how you wish to transition this corporeal life?

Yes, I’m talking about setting an intention for death.

Knocking on Deaths Door?

It’s not as morbid as you think. In fact, it’s liberating and freeing you to truly LIVE your life without fear of death. Read related article: These Are The 3 Major Contributors to Depression and Anxiety, According to Science

Many ancient texts like the Tibetan Book of the Dead and the Egyptian Book of the Dead (great light reading…lol) actually teach you how to die with dignity and grace. This topic is something that we — as a western society — tend to sweep under the rug.

I’m not suggesting that you think about this every day. It is just something to plan for and to take a look at every so often (you may wish to change your mind about the finer details as you progress on your path).

How to Set an Appropriate Exit Strategy

This is a rough guideline of what I like to visualize at my time of passing (please feel free to adjust as you see fit).  I want to:

  • transition with grace and ease
  • transition in complete peace and tranquility
  • transition with excitement about entering my next phase of being

  • transition with the knowledge that I am about to make my transformation from body to spirit
  • transition with complete peace of mind and having all relationships resolved or in balance (i.e. noting tethering me to the physical plane)
  • set an intention to have trusted loved ones help me on the other side
  • die with a smile on my face

When I hold a space for these intentions and revisit them occasionally — it gives me peace of mind to live my life not worrying about that ‘fateful day’. I hope it will do the same for you.

If you don’t believe you can request such an ending, then I believe that will be your destiny (always feeling that you are in the hands of ‘fate’). Look, the way I see it is — what have you got to lose?

Black Holes and Revelations

A while ago I wrote an article about an a-ha moment I had with a background program I was running. The program was, ‘life isn’t fair’.

In the article I explained my discovery that life is neutral until you give it meaning (for instance: Life just is. Then you give it meaning: Life is/isn’t fair — your choice!).

The moment I zero-pointed that energy and reset it (as in: sat in meditation and worked my emotions back to 0 — ‘life just is’ — then juiced up my reality to read, ‘Life is fair’), things started to change rapidly.

New Program Deletion

In the days that followed, I began to realize I had other programs running. I felt it but didn’t know what they were. I knew it had to do with…ta-daaa….money — that old humdinger of a limiting belief that keeps on rearing its shiny head.

I asked the quantum field (what I like to call ‘the force’, ‘the matrix’, ‘God’ or whatever else floats your boat) to show me the block. It did — through a Bashar channel.

He/them/they (Bashar) said (and I paraphrase): you must never sell your ‘product’, you must sell yourself — your passion. Whatever excited you do it in the first place.

Deafening Alarm Bells Going Off

I was so guilty of this! I try to sell my ‘product’ (which can mean anything from services to actual things) — I just assumed that was how it’s done.

So, for instance, if you’ve painted a beautiful picture and it represents something you’re passionate about (say you’re in love with nature and you expressed your admiration through paint), the painting will sell itself. All you have to do is sell your passion.

  • Promote why you painted it, inject it with fluff. Fluff is about YOU. Sell who YOU are. You’re the unique thing on this planet, and that will reflect in your work or ‘product’.
  • Be yourself — it’s that simple.
  • Give immense amounts of gratitude to that quantum field for your success. An affirmation could be, ‘I’m so grateful for attracting people who resonate with my zest and passion for life, and who support me in every way I can conceive.’

SUBSCRIBE icon 1Don’t try to funnel what you want — leave it to the field to arrange how you get your success. Trying to control the outcome will only result in you getting emotionally and/or physically constipated.

Conclusions…and Stop Trying!

So, many of us concentrate too hard on trying to sell our wares. We so vehemently try to do this that we miss the point. We need to sell our passion — why we do what we do; why we are what we are. Encapsulate and BE the passion that drove you down this avenue and stop trying — trying only implies more trying. Savvy? Great. Go out there and peddle your passion!

Are you ready to enjoy life?

It’s so hard to ‘let go’ of your goals or the outcomes you desire once you’ve dreamed them up and even harder to know, intrinsically, that this is exactly what you must do in order to receive what you are asking for.

However, it may not be as hard as you thought.

Life is about enjoyment and following your bliss in every moment (yes, even when you’re cleaning the toilet!).

Changing Perspectives

Oh weary traveler of existential reality, I’m sure you’ve wanted to take those muddy, worn-out boots off and hang up your coat many times. Through the infinite trials and tribulations of your life, have you not perhaps caught a whiff that this sojourn is all about perspective? And there are close to 8 billion perspectives on Earth in this very NOW moment!

Thankfully, the only point of view that you need to concern yourself about is your own.

When you can take charge of the viewpoint of your current circumstance, you have every power to infuse it with an appropriate vibration.

“A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world: everyone you meet is your mirror.” ~Ken Keyes, Jr.

Let’s go back to cleaning the toilet…

It’s a job that needs doing, so, instead of dreading it — how about trying out these new perspectives?

  • Aren’t you lucky to have an indoor toilet? (saturate the task with gratitude)
  • Try seeing the task as fun, be your own Cinderella and relish in the cleansing foam and fresh new smell you have procured! (fill the task with delightful results to the best of your ability)
  • If you can’t do any of the above, try putting on some music. At the very least, you can have a good sing-song while you’re at it (make it fun)

This may seem a ridiculous example but it can be applied to almost anything (you can invent your own ways to imbue your situation with bliss).

This is really the key to life as far as I see it.

To follow your excitement in any given moment not only raises your vibration but opens the floodgates of what you do want to experience to remain and also, magically, allows the trapped energy of what you don’t want to leave.

Life starts to snowball into a joyous experience.

Enjoying the journey is easy when you can see that it’s all up to you to experience this life as good or bad. Reaching the destination has its rewards but then you’re most likely going to embark on another adventure. So, literally, you are in the traveling state far more than in the arriving state.

The journey is where the juice is — start squeezing and revel in the sweet taste of every NOW moment.

  • Have you ever been so swept up in the heat of the moment that your emotional outburst made things worse?
  • Have you ever wished you had just waited a bit or ‘slept on it’ before you reacted?

We’ve all had these moments, I’m sure.

It’s that hostile e-mail from a client,  that disruptive request from a friend or relative that caught you off-guard or the ‘pop-up’ abrasive guest at a dinner party that set your fireworks off.

Stirring Up the Mud

When you’ve got your knickers in a knot over something, the best thing you can do (because, obviously, your buttons are being pushed for a reason) is to take a time out to reflect on it.

  • Why are you being emotionally triggered?
  • Is it something you can alchemize (read more about that here: 3 Ways to Alchemize Chaos) — which simply means transmute (can you dowse the flame)?
  • Is burning that flame necessary or is it something you can let go of?
  • Is this a battle worthy of your energy or can you let this one go (i.e. choose the battles your fight)?
  • Do you have to be right or can you simply be the still presence without reacting?
  • Can you say what you need to say, be impeccable with your word and then let it go — whatever the outcome?
  • If you can sense a situation heating up, can you send out calming energy? Give it a try — it can really work.

If you’re in a situation where you can’t simply say, ‘let me get back to you‘ — or where you can leave replying to a text message or e-mail until the morning, when you have had time to calm down and reflect — simply say or do nothing. Try and sneak a ‘time-out’ by excusing yourself to go powder the old noggin, so you can take a few deep breaths and regroup.

The moment your levers are being pulled and temperature is rising, this is your indicator that you are out of balance. Sometimes they are even old, outworn emotional reactions that no longer serve any purpose. Always question why you are reacting and ask HQ (your higher self) for some guidance and clarity if you are at a loss. Letting the Water Clear

Never react to something when you are in a heightened emotional state. Even if you think your wording is sound and diplomatic, your energy will come through and it will be perceived in the emotional state you’re in.

I’ve had countless experiences where I have written a perfectly straight-forward e-mail but have been in a raging temper and the recipient has picked up on the hostility even though the words were PC. I now know never to write in any kind of altered emotional state — I only respond when I am in a place of balance and calm.

SUBSCRIBE icon 1The situations I have dealt with in a calm state of balance have turned out well. It also helps exponentially when you can visualize the outcome you desire. Practice holding that vision every time you slip into worry about something (always clearly see the desired outcome).

Patience, in these matters, can truly temper a volatile situation.

When ‘the water clears’ you will be able to see the situation from more than your emotional reactive state. You can glean different perspectives which will give you a more transparent picture of how to handle the situation. Always speak from your place of truth and integrity.

It is perfectly fine for you to take your time over giving an answer or reacting to a situation. Don’t let others pressurize your cooker into exploding.

How to Avoid Quantitative Action Dissatisfaction

The Slippery Slope of Getting Stuck in More

On my life’s journey, I’ve dedicated most of what I do to the creative arts. When I felt I hadn’t ‘succeeded’ in becoming the world famous artist or writer my ego wanted me to be — I created more. And more.

I painted more paintings to add to the collection (sitting gathering dust) or I wrote more content because maybe ‘this’ one would be the one to go viral.

Now don’t get me wrong — I actually enjoyed doing most of these activities but, in the same breath, felt like I was drowning myself in product and content. Do, do, do instead of be, be, be.

Human Doing vs Human Being

All of what I’ve achieved to this point has made me who I am, and I’m totally cool with that. The thing I want to stress in this blurb is the ‘auto-pilot’ I was on. I’m in awe of how much one can learn about oneself and the deeper the rabbit hole gets, the more funk comes floating on by.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

I recently outed this auto-pilot program and it’s insatiable thirst for ‘more’ and the penny dropped.

Less is more. Quality over quantity.

Just stop ‘doing’ and you will see that what you want is already there — it’s inside you waiting to be revealed.

But here was my trap:

  1. I thought (and this could apply to any given trade) that when I didn’t sell one of my paintings — fresh off the easel — that the next one would be ‘the one’. I would grind over whether I was choosing the right subject matter, style, mediums, whatever! Now, I was selling my art but not nearly as many as I desired to sell.
  2. I thought that perhaps my art wasn’t flying off the shelf because I had self worth issues but that just didn’t resonate with how I felt inside. I liked what I was doing and I enjoyed doing it. Where’s the problem?
  3. I thought ‘the problem’ lay in point no. 1 (not hitting the ‘sweet spot’) — hence, I started going around in circles creating more stuff and more stuff to market. I created more work for myself as each piece needed to be loaded onto my online stores, online galleries, sent to art licensing agents and/or taken to physical galleries. Life wasn’t getting simple (desire), it was getting complicated (nightmare) and this was not my intention at all. So, where was it all going so wrong? Here’s my solution:

  1. I had a conversation with HQ (Head Quarters/Higher Self — read related article: How to Communicate Instantly with Your Higher Self for Speedy Manifesting) and simply asked for what I wanted. Boom. Within 24 hours there was a sale from a site that I had yet to sell on and had been a member for over 4 years!
  2. I got a ‘download’ (we are in a matrix/hologram/construct after all) that I was a scatterbrain. I was stretching myself out in so many directions that I couldn’t concentrate on one thing at a time. This left me with little quality time to spend on each thing I was trying to manifest. Trying to do them all at once was leaving me tired, confused and unfocused.
  3. The solution was to focus on one thing at a time — giving quality of attention to each unique thing, taking it slow and methodically. Then when I achieved what I was after, I could focus on the next thing instead of attempting it all and feeling overwhelmed.
  4. The BIGGEST a-ha moment came when HQ started sending the most profound synchronicities my way to try and show me that all I had to do was get quiet and ask — I had to get out of my own way. I knew this intrinsically but with the fast pace of life, I’m sure you feel the same way sometimes, I can get swept away in all the ‘junk’ I think I have to do that really turned out to be time wasting BS.

Learning is great — it’s the journey we take — but sometimes different perspective is sorely needed. I don’t regret the journey but welcome this new viewpoint with relish and relief.

Go Talk to the Flower, it Knows

I even started to notice this ‘pattern’ in my garden (I love my garden as it is the macrocosm to my microcosm — the hologram reflecting the whole). I have a rather large garden with a lot going on. I’ve got sections of vegetable and fruit patches, sections of flower beds, entertainment areas, indigenous garden beds, etc. — you get the picture.

When I moved here in 2014 the garden was bland and pretty lifeless. I had a vision of creating a wonderland and I mapped it out and started the work.

However, the climate here in the South African Karoo is severe — winter brings frost and sometimes snow and summer brings heat-waves that kill off plants in one fell swoop.

To say the least, it’s been a learning curve for hubby and me.

After my HQ dialogue, I began to see that because I was scattering myself all over my garden — trying to do everything at once — it wasn’t quite looking the way I had envisioned.

Can’t See the Forest For the Trees

Again, this was because (notice the same pattern at work as with the art):

  1. When a plant didn’t ‘take off’ — I went out and bought other plants that I thought would. When these didn’t ‘take off’, I continued to buy more and more and more for the garden.
  2. Instead of focusing on getting one patch to work, I spread myself all over trying to make it all work at once to little avail.
  3. When things weren’t looking good, I decided it was because I had to create another ‘section’ of the garden to work on thus creating more work for myself and little attention to what was already there. I can be such an arsehole sometimes, I mean really! But when life is happening, one seldom takes time to reflect or to truly look at what you’re doing — it’s that damn auto-pilot again!

Crashing the Plane and Starting Again

I decided to crash the auto-pilot program and start anew. Now I pay attention to various sections of my garden. Give them a good soak with the sprinkler instead of dashing hither and thither with a hosepipe. Whilst the sprinkler is on, I can dead-head, weed and potter at my leisure.

My garden is already responding.

In my life, things are just falling into place. I have had miraculous turn of events and am very happy in my chosen careers and feel like, finally, I have regained control. The key was always to simplify and get the most quality out of my chosen experience and I now know how that feels: It feels good!

I was choking under all the fluff I was creating and realized that all I had to do was get clarity, awareness and a little bit of guidance from HQ. Now, in this place of calm, everything is just naturally falling into place.

I hope this helps those of you who are perhaps trying too hard to get where you want or what you want — let go and let your HQ guide you to your dreams in the quickest way possible.

How to Communicate Instantly with Your Higher Self for Speedy Manifesting

Mind-Blasting Stuff

I’m going to try and make this as straight forward as possible. Lately I’ve been playing with the idea that we’re in a construct reality or a ‘matrix’.

It’s been an astonishing revelation as synchronicities and instant messages have come pouring through the cracks.

I’ve always had a great deal of ‘bread crumbs’ from the unseen realm since I began my journey but when I got the proof that I asked for that we are living in a slightly different ‘reality’ (or should I say illusion) than I expected, these memo’s from what I like to call Head Quarters — or ‘HQ’ for short (aka your higher self) — came in thick and fast.

Just for example: I was reading from a book — and had just happened to ask HQ a question — when the radio talk show I was listening to started speaking the very words out of the book I was reading. Mind = blown. It had answered my question perfectly.

Stranger Things…

Once you get your head around the matrix stuff, it’s actually quite liberating. It means you ‘exit’ the autopilot form of plodding along in ‘reality/illusion’ and YOU get to call the shots — or rewrite the program. Something akin to lucid dreaming in the ‘real’ world.

So, how do you do this?

It couldn’t be easier!

I can only speak from my personal experience (obviously) and what I do is literally have a conversation with HQ. You can ask for xyz and wait patiently for your bread crumbs to appear. In some cases, the whole loaf will plop into your lap buttered and all.

I’ve tried it, tested it, prodded the technique and have had some startlingly speedy results.

Don’t forget that the analogy for your HQ or higher self is that ‘it’ is on top of a skyscraper looking down on all the avenues of possibility, you (in corporeal experience) are on the ground level looking dead-ahead. If you want to know the quickest route to a specific destination — check in with the control tower (HQ).

The most important things to remember are:

  1. Get clear about what you truly want.
  2. Get yourself a pendulum (Pendulums 101 – What, How, Where and Why) so you can get a quick no/yes/maybe answer.
  3. I use my pendulum (dowsing is you communing with HQ or your higher self) to check that what I want is something in alignment with what HQ wants (remember: you are here with a ‘blueprint’ or ‘mission’ so if what you’re trying to acquire is not congruent with that assignment, you’re going to hit a wall). Most of the time, I am in alignment with my pre-chosen path. However, I have occasionally experienced straying off the yellow brick road to pursue something that looks shiny and wonderful that’s turned out to be a dead-end pursuit — shit happens, but you can easily avoid these pit-falls if you trust your innate wisdom or just completely trust that the Universe has your back (or dowse for the answer).
  4. SUBSCRIBE icon 1If you do ‘want’ something that is not in alignment with HQ, let it go. You haven’t got time to waste on going in circles and it’s probably something your ego is holding onto. If you detach, you will re-enter the cosmic slipstream — remember that when you want to cling onto outworn dreams.
  5. The last but not least thing is — drum-roll — you have to believe 100% that HQ is there and listening. Sorry, but there’s nothing that kills your communique than doubt. If you doubt, then your wish is granted and you’ll get something to doubt about (I’m a poet and I sure know it). It sucks but that’s how it is and you’ll soon get the hang of it. I was teetering on being somewhere between 75%-80% believing that we are in a matrix/construct program — then, through a series of personal revelations — I went sailing to 100% believability That’s when things REALLY changed for me — instant manifestation 101!!! Just remember to check in at no.1 again. Be sure of what you want, it’s kind of important.
  6. If you doubt, ask for confirmation. That’s how I got to 100% believability. Prepare yourself for a deep rabbit-hole, red-pill experience — it’s trippy stuff.

How to Avoid Misunderstanding Forgiveness

To Forgive is Divine

“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr. 

The topic of forgiveness harbors much resistance in some — it’s a touchy subject to say the least. The biggest misunderstanding — in the act of forgiveness — is to think that you are condoning the action, whatever it may be.

Forgiveness is actually letting go of the act not necessarily forgetting it (you may need to remember the experience later on in life so as not to be burnt again).

In letting go of the action taken against you, you free yourself from it from this moment on — you no longer carry the weight. You lighten yourself of the burden of holding onto it and give yourself permission to start anew.

Looking Deeper

This doesn’t mean that you have to be bosom-buddies with the perpetrator (you may choose to cut them out of your life completely, which may be completely appropriate in your given circumstance) nor does it mean that you indemnify their actions — it simply means you have compassion for the person. You have empathized enough to have understanding as to why the action took place.

An example would be that an abuser may have been abused — this will be your chance to step into the shoes of the ‘villain’ (who was the ‘victim’) and to see the course of events that lead to the ‘act’. You may grapple with the fact that some abuse victims don’t ever become abusers — that abusers choose their course of action. This is true — our lives revolve around choice. However, the course of action (in the case of the incident having already taken place) is set and all you can do is have compassion for the individual who, should we say, strayed from the path. When you can do this, it is easier to practice forgiveness.

“Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness.” ~ Marianne Williamson

Forgiveness = compassion and understanding.

Forgiveness does not mean condoning or forcing yourself to see the person as ‘innocent’ or the actions carried out as okay.

How to Raise Your Vibration

Meditate or Bust

The penny dropped for me during this last week. I’ve taken to practicing 10 minute meditations every morning, even my hubby joins me and we do a focused joint intention.

After 2 weeks of doing the same thing, I noticed that the meditation was getting a bit stale — like running over the same old ground. We were visualizing our common goal and what it would be like to have it, etc. and we were both getting a bit bored.

I then entered the meditation with no ‘goal’ or ‘affirmation’ and something said to me, ‘You Are the Universe‘. Simple, hey? You bet!

The ‘voice’ was right. I expanded my consciousness out into the dark void of this Universe in my third eye and everything was just amazing. Perfect. How it should be.

I felt connected to Source.

Well, I’m sure a lot of you are thinking ‘duh, that’s what meditation is supposed to be‘ and you are, of course, right! It’s so simple but, hey, I’m human and I tend to complicate things. I think we all do at times. Thing is, being alive is supposed to be uncomplicated and abundant and joyful and and and….

High-Riding Vibes

When you’ve asked for something, in my understanding, it goes into your cache. Your asking is over. No need to ask anymore — it’s there.

What you have to do is raise your vibration to meet the expected thing you’ve asked for. You’re not going to be rich by placing the thought for ‘more money‘ into your bag and then feeling lack of said money. The money is yours, your job is to discontinue to ask for it but to elevate your frequency to the level of receiving it. We tend to just keep ‘asking’ and never focus on the ‘receiving’. Am I right or am I right?

Ask….gotcha…receive…huh?

We’re all good at the asking part of the Law of Attraction but most of us pretty much suck at receiving. Why? Cause we’re programmed — as a society — to be chasing, working hard and running ourselves into the ground for what we want.

Stop.

You don’t need to do any of that. Your new job is to take up meditation on a daily basis and just feel pure joy.

When you tap into Source energy, you ARE abundant, you HAVE absolutely everything because you are the Universe! Easier said than done? No, not really.

Meditation, like everything, needs practice. Don’t give up even if you’ve got a monkey mind. Concentrate on your breathing (or, just read this article: Meditation For People Who Don’t Meditate (A Simple Guide)). When you can get to the state where your mind is still, focus on something easy like tobogganing or hang-gliding or whatever else floats your boat.

The key to this is: everyone is different and no ‘one meditation/mantra‘ will fit all.

If the violet flame doesn’t feel right, don’t try to picture it. If calling on angels has no meaning for you, don’t let it ruffle your feathers. If picturing yourself in a cave full of treasure seems ridiculous, don’t be a pirate. If you ‘aint feeling the rainbow aura, you may not be a unicorn. Don’t force a square into a round.

Put a Smile on Your Dial

You’ve got to figure out what does put a smile on your face. Think of the Harry Potter series. When Harry had to conjure a patronus (spell) he had to think of the most amazing experience of his life. This is what your homework is. You’ve got to find that one thing that speaks to YOU.

Let me give you my example and maybe you can better understand what I’m going on about:

In my last meditation I imagined myself swimming in a stream and going with the flow. I like to swim and the feel of water all around me, so this already put me at ease. I pictured myself diving off waterfalls and being swept away to different pools and going down natural slides. It was great fun and I felt pretty good. Then I got washed up on a shore of smooth gemstones and crystals. I lay there and my body literally shuddered. My vibes were taken up a notch. I then went and sat on a throne of quartz crystal in the shade of some beautiful tropical plants and, again, another shudder of good vibes was sent through my body.

This really made me feel good throughout the day and it was only a 10 minute meditation. Tailor make yours to fit in with your likes and don’t try to squeeze into someone else’s version of meditation. Other peoples meditations can be great and I’ve used quite a few but I have to admit — now that I’ve taken the training wheels off — my own imagination is the bomb!

Raising your frequency will allow more wonderful things to come to you. After I did this meditation a whole heap of unexpected cool things happened in my life within the following 48 hours.

Don’t forget to not hold any rigid attachment to how you want things to work out, just let the Universe take care of your wealth and abundance the way it should be. Your job is to have fun and enjoy the ride!

Going Deeper into Couch Manifesting

The Law of Least Effort

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about my new found delight — couch manifesting. You can recap here: Couch Manifesting: The Only Way to Dream Big!

I’d like to go more deeply into the whole process of what I meant when I said you need to get to a point where it feels real.

I’m going to spare you no details, perhaps to my detriment. Let me warn you in advance — things could get a bit graphic and parental guidance is advised.

Before I begin, I was thinking about writing this article in the wee hours of the morning and — to my surprise — realized I was engaging all my chakras during the couch manifesting process. Here is my 7 step program:

  1. I sit comfortably. I prefer to have my feet up on a cushion but you can even lie down and do this — the more comfortable and at ease you are, the better! The reason for this is that the first thing I like to do is the mantra: ‘the Universe has my back‘. What better way to get into this than by feeling that you are supported and comfy?
  2. I start to take deep breaths. I do three inhales to the count of five, hold it for five and breathe out for five. I imagine I am breathing in from the top of my head (crown chakra) and this awesome life-giving prana is filling my body with cosmic creative energy. Now I feel relaxed.
  3. I visualize. I clearly see what I would like to manifest in my minds eye (third eye chakra). If it’s a problem that needs solving — I concentrate on how I would like to see it play out or resolve itself. I do a lot of smiling when I see the ‘problem’ turn into a solution. Smiling, laughing or bursts of mirth helps you anchor the joy of having what you want.  If I’m trying to manifest something else, I feel myself in the moment where I have it. I tap into what it feels like to have it and I say, ‘thank you, thank you, thank you!‘(throat chakra engaged!). You may have noticed that I like to do things in 3’s — you do however many repetitions feels right for you.
  4. I spend time in the feeling. This is where I shift my focus into my heart chakra. I feel my heart expand as I see what I want unfold. I then take it one step further and let those feelings pour from my heart into my solar plexus (the stomach area — where the butterflies like to take flight). Here comes the juicy part: I then let those feelings spill into my 2nd chakra (the sacral chakra — seat of sexuality and creativity). Now I start blissing out big time and even go into an orgasmic state — every fiber in my being is shifting into ecstasy (this Universe works on cosmic, sexual energy so you’d better start getting used to it! Who’s complaining, right?). Orgasm is the closest I’ve ever been to God — so, it should surely work when you’re trying to create a glorious reality (Read related article: The Science of Stress, Orgasm and Wellbeing).
  5. I feel it in my butt. Wet, Wet, Wet felt in in their fingers and in their toes — well, I feel it lastly in my derriere. I couldn’t possibly leave out the root chakra in all this manifesting. The energy of feeling the reality of your focus in the NOW moment leaves me with a tingling tush.
  6. I bring it in and boogie. All these steps may sound a bit complicated — they really aren’t. You don’t have to worry too much about how much you do or don’t feel it in your chakras, buttocks or anywhere else for that matter. Getting into the space where you feel your manifestation all fleshed out differs for each individual. I think the most important thing to focus on is a kind of ‘WOOHOO‘ feeling. When I successfully feel into that future and it feels 100% real to me, I want to sing Song 2 by Blur. That ‘woohoo’ is my final anchoring of this splendiforous reality I’ve just created and feels like a super big, ‘YES!’ to the Universe.
  7. ‘All is well’. I like to end of my couch tripping with this affirmation, it always just feels right 🙂

Couch Manifesting: The Only Way to Dream Big!

I’ve been trying a new tactic using the Law of Attraction. Maybe I’m a little slow and you’ve already stumbled across this amazing way to manifest what you want. It’s what I like to call ‘Couch Manifesting’ and it’s as great as it sounds!

I tried this a few weeks ago when I was ill and ‘bed ridden’ and I never stopped doing it ’cause it worked so well. Read related article: How Learning the Art of Slowing Down Changed My Life

And…Action!

Straight off the cuff — I don’t want to confuse my sloth-like behavior with not taking action. Nothing could be further from the truth in my life. I want to appeal to those of you who have dreamed the dream, affirmed your backside off and taken copious amounts of action to get the ball rolling…but just don’t ever seem to catch that break — or you’re not catching that wave as often as you’d like to.

I’ve been there.

Couch manifesting is when you’ve put all the work in and you just want to sit back and feel those well-deserved rewards just being heaped on top of you.

No More Marketing Nightmares

I’m the kind of anal Virgo who doesn’t stop. Even when I’ve done all I can do, I’ll do even more and stress myself out to the brink of breakdown (I’m sure there are a lot of you who feel the same way). But not anymore…I’ve discovered couch manifesting!

The beauty about couch manifesting is that once you’ve taken the necessary steps to implement your goal — all you need to do is sit back, relax and daydream your result into fruition. You’re going to let the Universe take care of clients streaming in, great job offers clogging your inbox, suitors making house calls or whatever it is you’re trying to experience. As I said before, I’ve done all the work, gone down the expensive road of advertising, pulled my hair out thinking ‘what more can I do?’ and ending up doing more and more or creating more and more…I felt like the Duracell bunny — just going on and on and on beating that drum!

My Battery Was Pooped

I had to get utterly grounded by the flu to take a closer look at what I was doing to myself.

Okay, what does Couch Manifesting entail? Let me give you my real life experience example:

  • The end of the month was looming, bills needed to be paid.
  • I sat on my comfy couch staring at the wall just repeating to myself, ‘I’ve sold 2 paintings and I’ve got money coming in from royalties too‘ (this seemed believable to me at the time).
  • I felt into that for about 10 minutes until I got to a point where it was real.
  • I relaxed a bit and felt my breathing ease up too — I got to the point where I was feeling my bank account looking healthy.
  • My body felt calm and totally at peace — hakuna matata style!
  • I was good, life was good, everything was goooood. All was well.
  • I started reading my book without feeling guilty or the need to ‘look busy’.

I kid you not. Within the hour — and this was so strange because of the instantaneous result — I got a payment notification. I was being paid for 2 paintings I sold last month that I didn’t know about via a local gallery I exhibit at! Then within half an hour I got an e-mail with a royalty payment…and then another royalty pay out a few hours later!

I’m sold on this.

Letting it Go

I’ve spent so long working my fingers to the bone to market myself, I’ve paid for so many adverts and courses, thought I should ‘do more’ to ‘achieve more’ when all I had to do was sit on my couch and daydream about the plethora of ways the Universe was going to bring more wealth to me with the least amount of effort.

I literally wrap myself over the knuckles when I slip back into thinking that I should be doing more and creating more when I’m simply not inspired to. I’m hard-wired to ‘look busy’ but it’s a habit that is dissolving quickly.

I’m not advocating that you don’t take more action — just do what you WANT to do, when it feels right, and not out of any DESPERATION. If you’ve done the work all you need to do is imagine the sh*t out of your success! You’ve got it already — believe it.
